You shall not follow the crowd in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to join together with a crowd in order to pervert justice;

“ Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,

“ Do not follow the crowd when they do what is wrong. When you are a witness in court, do not turn what is right into what is wrong. Do not go along with the crowd.

You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice,

“ You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice.

“ You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert justice.

You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to wrest justice:

“ You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert justice.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to[ do] evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest[ judgment]:

“ You must not follow a crowd in doing evil things; in a lawsuit you must not offer testimony that agrees with a crowd so as to pervert justice,

“ You shall not follow a crowd to do evil. You shall not testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice.

“ You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute.Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.

But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Then all the congregation raised their voices and cried out, and the people wept that night.And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the entire congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or even if we had died in this wilderness!So why is the Lord bringing us into this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become plunder! Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and return to Egypt!”Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel.And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes;and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying,“ The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us— a land which flows with milk and honey.Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they will be our prey. Their protection is gone from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Then the glory of the Lord appeared in the tent of meeting to all the sons of Israel.

Intent on satisfying the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.

Nicodemus( the one who came to Him before, being one of them)* said to them,“ Our Law does not judge the person unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?”

Because I feared the great multitude And the contempt of families terrified me, And I kept silent and did not go out of doors?

My son, do not walk on the way with them. Keep your feet from their path,

‘ You shall not do injustice in judgment; you shall not show partiality to the poor nor give preference to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.

You are not to show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You are not to be afraid of any person, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too difficult for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’

Now when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying,“ I am innocent of this Man’s blood; you yourselves shall see.”And all the people replied,“ His blood shall be on us and on our children!”Then he released Barabbas for them; but after having Jesus flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.

And he said,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have abandoned Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they have sought to take my life.”

But they were insistent, with loud voices, demanding that He be crucified. And their voices began to prevail.And so Pilate decided to have their demand carried out.

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make us a god who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we do not know what happened to him.”Aaron said to them,“ Tear off the gold rings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.”So all the people tore off the gold rings which were in their ears and brought them to Aaron.Then he took the gold from their hands, and fashioned it with an engraving tool and made it into a cast metal calf; and they said,“ This is your god, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”Now when Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of it; and Aaron made a proclamation and said,“ Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord.”

My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.If they say,“ Come with us, Let’s lie in wait for blood, Let’s ambush the innocent without cause;

Do not enter the path of the wicked And do not proceed in the way of evil people.

But after two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and Felix, wanting to do the Jews a favor, left Paul imprisoned.

and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

You shall not distort justice, you shall not show partiality; and you shall not accept a bribe, because a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous.

and said,“ Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.Now look, I have two daughters who have not had relations with any man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do not do anything to these men, because they have come under the shelter of my roof.”But they said,“ Get out of the way!” They also said,“ This one came in as a foreigner, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them!” So they pressed hard against Lot and moved forward to break the door.

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the more valuable animals, the lambs, and everything that was good, and were unwilling to destroy them completely; but everything despicable and weak, that they completely destroyed.

And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.

And King Zedekiah said,“ Behold, he is in your hands; for the king can do nothing against you.”So they took Jeremiah and threw him into the cistern of Malchijah the king’s son, which was in the courtyard of the guardhouse; and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. Now in the cistern there was no water but only mud, and Jeremiah sank into the mud.

( he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God—

“ My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet whom they have thrown into the cistern; and he will die right where he is because of the famine, for there is no more bread in the city.”

“ You shall not pervert the justice due a stranger or an orphan, nor seize a widow’s garment as a pledge.

Then He said to me,“ The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of perversion; for they say,‘ The Lord has abandoned the land, and the Lord does not see!’

“ Is it time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses while this house remains desolate?”

May he judge Your people with righteousness And Your afflicted with justice.

Then the Lord said to Noah,“ Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this generation.

Then the officials were angry at Jeremiah and they beat him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe, for they had made it into the prison.

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.For prior to the coming of some men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and separate himself, fearing those from the circumcision.The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.

Before they lay down, the men of the city— the men of Sodom— surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter;

But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, replied to Paul and said,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and stand trial before me on these charges?”

Then King Zedekiah gave a command, and they placed Jeremiah in custody in the courtyard of the guardhouse, and gave him a loaf of bread daily from the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guardhouse.
