Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD. Anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.The Israelites must observe the Sabbath, celebrating it throughout their generations as a permanent covenant.

“ Why have we fasted, but you have not seen? We have denied ourselves, but you haven’t noticed!”“ Look, you do as you please on the day of your fast, and oppress all your workers.

Do not light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”
