In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says,‘ This is mine,’ both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare guilty must pay back double to the other.

Suppose you have an ox, donkey, sheep or clothing that does not belong to you. Or you have other property lost by someone else. And suppose someone says,‘ That belongs to me.’ Then both people must bring their case to the judges. The one the judges decide is guilty must pay back twice as much to the other person.

For every breach of trust, whether it is for an ox, for a donkey, for a sheep, for a cloak, or for any kind of lost thing, of which one says,‘ This is it,’ the case of both parties shall come before God. The one whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

“ Suppose there is a dispute between two people who both claim to own a particular ox, donkey, sheep, article of clothing, or any lost property. Both parties must come before God, and the person whom God declares guilty must pay double compensation to the other.

In any case of wrongdoing involving an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or anything else lost, and someone claims,‘ That’s mine,’ the case between the two parties is to come before the judges. The one the judges condemn must repay double to his neighbor.

『人與人之間若有爭訟的事上審判廳，官府審判他們，定有理的無罪，定無理的有罪；

『你要告訴以色列人說：無論男人女人、若犯了人所犯的任何罪、以致對永恆主不忠實，那人就有了罪責；那麼、他就要承認他所犯的罪，將所虧負人的按原數賠還，另外加上五分之一、給受虧負的人。

『不可在你的窮人的爭訟上屈枉正直。要遠離虛假的事；不可殺無辜和正義的人，因為我必不以惡人為無罪。不可受賄賂，因為賄賂能使明眼人變瞎，又能顛倒義人的案件。

『不可咒罵官長，不可咒詛你民間的首領。

他所偷的、無論是牛、是驢、是羊，若發現在他手下仍然活着，他就要加倍賠償。

『你要在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的各城內、按着你的族派、為自己設立審判官和官吏；他們要按公義的判斷審判人民。你不可屈枉正直；不可看人的外貌；不可收受賄賂，因為賄賂能使智慧人的眼變瞎，能使義人的案件顛倒。

『人若得罪他的鄰舍，有人叫他用一種咒語來起誓，他來到這殿，在你的祭壇前起誓；

『因為你們若饒恕人的過犯，你們的天父也必饒恕你們的過犯。你們若不饒恕人的過犯，你們的父也不饒恕你們的過犯。

你們要自己注意；倘若你弟兄犯了罪，你可以規勸他；他若悔改，你就饒恕他。倘若他一天七次得罪了你，又七次回轉過來，對你說：「我悔改了」，你也該饒恕他。』

你們的族弟兄住在各城，凡有爭訟的事來到你們面前，或是為了兩方面的流血、或是在律法與誡命、律例、典章之間有爭執，你們總要開導他們，免得他們得罪永恆主，以致他的震怒臨到了你們和你們的族弟兄；你們這樣行、就不至於有罪責了。

『人若將銀錢或物件給鄰舍看守，這東西從那人家裏被偷去；賊若被找到，賊要加倍賠償。賊若不被找到，那家主就必須被帶到官長面前、去查明他有沒有下手拿鄰舍的物件。

『倘若你弟兄犯了罪，你要去，當你和他獨在的時候使他自知有罪；他若聽你，你便贏得了你弟兄。

你並且要從眾民之間物色有才德敬畏上帝的人、可信可靠、恨惡不義之財的人，設立他們為千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長，去管理眾民；叫他們隨時審判人民；所有大的案件、他們要呈到這裏來，所有小的案件、他們可以自己判斷：這樣，你就輕省些，他們也可以和你一同擔當。

你們若不從心裏各人饒恕他的弟兄，我天父也必這樣待你們。』
