In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says,‘ This is mine,’ both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare guilty must pay back double to the other.

Suppose you have an ox, donkey, sheep or clothing that does not belong to you. Or you have other property lost by someone else. And suppose someone says,‘ That belongs to me.’ Then both people must bring their case to the judges. The one the judges decide is guilty must pay back twice as much to the other person.

For every breach of trust, whether it is for an ox, for a donkey, for a sheep, for a cloak, or for any kind of lost thing, of which one says,‘ This is it,’ the case of both parties shall come before God. The one whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

“ Suppose there is a dispute between two people who both claim to own a particular ox, donkey, sheep, article of clothing, or any lost property. Both parties must come before God, and the person whom God declares guilty must pay double compensation to the other.

In any case of wrongdoing involving an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or anything else lost, and someone claims,‘ That’s mine,’ the case between the two parties is to come before the judges. The one the judges condemn must repay double to his neighbor.

“你要对以色列人说：无论男女，如果犯了人所犯的任何罪，以致得罪耶和华，那人就有了罪；他（“他”直译是“他们”）要承认自己所犯的罪，把亏负人的损失，原数赔偿之外，另外加上五分之一，给予他亏负的人。

不可在穷人诉讼的事上歪曲正义。要远离虚假的事；不可杀无辜和正义的人，因为我决不以恶人为义人。不可受贿赂，因为贿赂能使明眼人变瞎，又能歪曲义人的话。

“不可咒骂神，也不可咒诅你人民的领袖。

所偷之物，无论是牛、是驴，或是羊，如果发现在他手中仍然活着，他必须双倍偿还。

“在耶和华你的神赐给你的各城里，你要按着各支派设立审判官和官长；他们要按着公义的判断审判人民。不可屈枉正直，不可徇人的情面，不可收受贿赂，因为贿赂能使智慧人的眼变瞎，也能使义人的话颠倒过来。

“如果有人得罪他的邻居被迫起誓，他来到这殿在你的祭坛前起誓的时候，

如果你们饶恕别人的过犯，你们的天父也必饶恕你们。如果你们不饶恕别人，你们的父也必不饶恕你们的过犯。

你们应当谨慎。如果你弟兄得罪你，就劝戒他；他若懊悔，就饶恕他。如果他一天七次得罪你，又七次回转，对你说：‘我懊悔了！’你总要饶恕他。”

你们住在各城里的同胞带到你们面前的一切诉讼，无论是流血的事件，或是有关律法、诫命、律例和典章的诉讼，你们总要警告他们，免得他们得罪耶和华，以致耶和华的烈怒临到你们和你们的同胞身上；你们必须这样行，就没有罪了。

“如果人把银子或家中物件交给邻舍看守，这些东西从那人的家被偷去；如果把窃贼抓到了，窃贼就要双倍偿还。如果找不到窃贼，那家主必要到审判官（“审判官”原文作“神”）那里，查明他有没有下手拿去邻舍的财物。

“如果你的弟兄犯了罪﹙“犯了罪”有些抄本作“得罪你”。﹚，你趁着和他单独在一起的时候，要去指出他的过失来。如果他肯听，你就得着你的弟兄。

你要从人民中间选出有才能的人，就是敬畏神、忠实可信、恨恶不义之财的人，设立他们作千夫长、百夫长、五十夫长、十夫长，去管理人民，使他们随时可以审判人民的案件；所有大事件，他们要带到你这里来；所有小事件，他们可以自己审判。这样，你就轻省些，他们也可以和你一同分担此事。

如果你们各人不从心里饶恕你的弟兄，我的天父也必这样待你们。”
