倘若有人在自己的田間焚燒荊棘，不小心燒掉了別人的莊稼、禾捆或整個田園，那生火的人就要賠償一切損失。

“若点火焚烧荆棘，以致将别人堆积的禾捆，站着的禾稼，或是田园，都烧尽了，那点火的必要赔还。

“若火冒出，延烧到荆棘，以致将堆积的禾捆，直立的庄稼，或田地，都烧尽了，那点火的必要赔偿。

“若火冒出，延烧到荆棘，以致将堆积的禾捆，直立的庄稼，或田地，都烧尽了，那点火的必要赔偿。

“ If a fire breaks out and spreads into thornbushes so that it burns shocks of grain or standing grain or the whole field, the one who started the fire must make restitution.

倘若二人之間有什麼糾紛，無論是為了牛、驢、羊、衣服或失物，爭執的雙方要把案件呈報審判官，審判官判誰敗訴，誰就要賠償雙倍。

於是，他出去捉了三百隻狐狸，把牠們的尾巴一對一對綁起來，將火把綁在兩條尾巴中間，然後點燃火把，把狐狸放進非利士人的麥田裡，將割好的麥捆和未割的麥子、葡萄園和橄欖園都燒毀了。

倘若有人打開井蓋或挖了井後不把井口蓋好，以致有牛或驢掉進井裡，井的主人就要賠償牲畜的主人，死牲畜則歸井的主人。

但若牲畜是被人偷去的，受託人就要賠償失主。

押沙龍就吩咐僕人：「你們看，約押的田就在我的田旁邊，他種了大麥，你們去放火把它燒了。」押沙龍的僕人便把麥田燒了。約押便來到押沙龍家裡，問他：「你為什麼叫僕人放火燒我的田？」
