“ If you lend money to My people, to the poor person among you, you must not be like a moneylender to him; you must not charge him interest.

“我民中有贫穷人与你同住，你若借钱给他，不可如放债的向他取利。

“我的子民中有困苦人在你那里，你若借钱给他，不可如放债的向他取利息。

“我的子民中有困苦人在你那里，你若借钱给他，不可如放债的向他取利息。

“倘若有贫苦的同胞向你借钱，你不可像放债的一样从中取利。

“如果你借钱给我的人民，就是与你们在一起的穷人，你对待他们不可像放债的人一样，不可在他们身上取利。

“ If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not treat it like a business deal; charge no interest.

“ Suppose you lend money to one of my people among you who is in need. Then do not treat it like a business deal. Do not charge any interest at all.

“ If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him.

“ If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would.

“ If you lend silver to my people, to the poor person among you, you must not be like a creditor to him; you must not charge him interest.

“ If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest.

who does not lend his money at interest or take a bribe against the innocent— the one who does these things will never be moved.

“ If your brother becomes destitute and cannot sustain himself among you, you are to support him as a foreigner or temporary resident, so that he can continue to live among you.Do not profit or take interest from him, but fear your God and let your brother live among you.You are not to lend him your silver with interest or sell him your food for profit.

“ Do not charge your brother interest on money, food, or anything that can earn interest.You may charge a foreigner interest, but you must not charge your brother interest, so that the Lord your God may bless you in everything you do in the land you are entering to possess.

He doesn’t lend at interest or for profit but keeps his hand from wrongdoing and carries out true justice between men.

After seriously considering the matter, I accused the nobles and officials, saying to them,“ Each of you is charging his countrymen interest.” So I called a large assembly against them

Whoever increases his wealth through excessive interest collects it for one who is kind to the poor.

He keeps his hand from harming the poor, not taking interest or profit on a loan. He practices My ordinances and follows My statutes. Such a person will not die for his father’s iniquity. He will certainly live.

People who live in you accept bribes in order to shed blood. You take interest and profit on a loan and brutally extort your neighbors. You have forgotten Me.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

She went and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons can live on the rest.”

One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha,“ Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the Lord. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.”

Woe is me, my mother, that you gave birth to me, a man who incites dispute and conflict in all the land. I did not lend or borrow, yet everyone curses me.

and lends at interest or for profit, will he live? He will not live! Since he has committed all these detestable acts, he will certainly die. His blood will be on him.

Some were saying,“ We, our sons, and our daughters are numerous. Let us get grain so that we can eat and live.”Others were saying,“ We are mortgaging our fields, vineyards, and homes to get grain during the famine.”Still others were saying,“ We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.We and our children are just like our countrymen and their children, yet we are subjecting our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters are already enslaved, but we are powerless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

Even I, as well as my brothers and my servants, have been lending them money and grain. Please, let us stop charging this interest.Return their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses to them immediately, along with the percentage of the money, grain, new wine, and olive oil that you have been assessing them.”

why didn’t you put my money in the bank? And when I returned, I would have collected it with interest!’

then you should have deposited my money with the bankers. And when I returned I would have received my money back with interest.
