猶大人不忠實，遂致在以色列和耶路撒冷之中行了可厭惡的事；因為猶大人褻瀆了永恆主之聖別、就是永恆主所喜愛的，去娶事奉外人之神的女子為妻。願行這事的、無論是鼓動的、是附和的、連那獻供物給萬軍之永恆主的、願永恆主都把他從雅各的帳棚剪除掉！以下這樣的事你們又行了。你們將妻子的眼淚哭泣和唉哼、遮蓋了永恆主的祭壇，因為永恆主不再垂顧供物，不再喜悅從你們手中收納。你們還問說：『為甚麼呢？』那是因為永恆主在你和你幼年所娶的妻之間作證婚者啊：她是你的配偶，是你盟約之妻，你卻對她不忠實。一個還剩有靈性的人是不會這樣行的。那一個是誰？就是一個尋求屬神之種的啊。故此要謹守你們的靈性，不可對你幼年所娶的妻不忠實。

我再說，你們今日若按忠誠正直待耶路巴力和他的家，你們就可以因亞比米勒而得喜樂，亞比米勒也可以因你們而得喜樂；

以掃就看出、在他父親以撒眼中、迦南的女子父親是不愜意的。

你看見俘虜中有丰姿俊秀的女子，就戀慕她、要娶她為妻；那麼、你就可以領她進你家中；她要剃頭修甲，脫去被俘擄時的衣裳，住在你家裏，哀哭她父親和母親一個月的工夫；然後你可以進去找她：你做她的丈夫，她做你的妻子。將來你若不喜愛她，就要送她隨意出去，決不可為了銀錢而賣她，也不可當婢女待她，因為你已經玷辱了她。

摩西說：『看吧，我要從你這裏出去，懇求永恆主，叫蒼蠅羣明天離開法老跟他的臣僕和人民；只是法老卻不可再愚弄我們、而不讓人民走、去獻祭給永恆主。』

有甚麼人聘定了妻，還沒迎娶的？他可以回家去，恐怕他死在戰場上，而別人去娶她。」

他父親和母親對他說：『在你族弟兄的女子中、或是在我族人中、難道沒有一個女子，而你須要去從沒受割禮的非利士人中娶妻啊？』參孫對他父親說：『請將她給我娶來好啦，因為我看她正中我意。』

我的弟兄浮躁無恆像溪水，像溪水流過的河床。

掃羅非常惱怒，對這事很不高興，就說：『歸大衛呢、是萬萬；歸我呢、只是千千；那麼除了王位之外他還要甚麼呢？』
