倘若有人把女兒賣為奴婢，她不可像男僕那樣離開。

如果有人把女兒賣作婢女，婢女不可像男僕那樣出去。

『人若賣女兒做使女，使女不能像男的奴僕那樣出去。

如人鬻女為婢、則弗釋之、不與僕同、

如人鬻女為婢、則不得釋、不與僕同。

人若鬻女為婢、則毋若奴一例而釋、

“ If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do.

“ Suppose a man sells his daughter as a servant. Then she can’t go free as male servants do.

“ When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do.

“ When a man sells his daughter as a concubine, she is not to leave as the male slaves do.

“ Now if a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do.

“ And if a man sells his daughter to be a female slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do.

And if a man sell his daughter to be a maid- servant, she shall not go out as the men- servants do.

“ When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she is not to leave as the male slaves do.

And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

“ If a man sells his daughter as a female servant, she will not go out as the male servants do.

“ If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

We belong to the same family as those who are wealthy, and our children are just like theirs. Yet we must sell our children into slavery just to get enough money to live. We have already sold some of our daughters, and we are helpless to do anything about it, for our fields and vineyards are already mortgaged to others.”

“ If you buy a Hebrew slave, he may serve for no more than six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom.If he was single when he became your slave, he shall leave single. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife must be freed with him.
