於是摩西對以色列的審判官說：“你們各人要把與巴力．毗珥連合的人都殺了。”摩西和以色列全體會眾在會幕門口哭泣的時候，以色列人中有一個人來，當著他們的面帶了一個米甸女子到自己的兄弟那裡去。亞倫祭司的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈看見了，就從會眾中起來，手裡拿著槍，跟著那以色列人，進入臥室，把他們兩人刺透，就是刺透那以色列人和那女子。槍刺進了那女子的肚腹。這樣，在以色列人中的瘟疫才止住。

城中的領袖都是咆哮的獅子，城中的審判官是夜間的豺狼，甚麼都不留到早晨。

“地不可永遠賣掉，因為地是我的；你們在我面前不過是寄居的和客旅。

“如果人彼此爭鬥，擊傷了懷孕的婦人，以致流產，但沒有別的損害，那傷害她的必須按照婦人的丈夫要求的，和照著審判官斷定的，繳納罰款。

亞吉相信了大衛，心裡說：“他在自己的族人以色列中留下了臭名，他必永遠作我的僕人了。”

因為在那一夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地所有頭生的，無論是人或是牲畜，都要殺掉；我也要審判埃及的一切神祇，我是耶和華。

長老對他說：“今天如果王作這民的僕人，服事他們，用好話回答他們，他們就常作王的僕人。”

如果找不到竊賊，那家主必要到審判官（“審判官”原文作“神”）那裡，查明他有沒有下手拿去鄰舍的財物。任何爭訟的案件，無論是為了牛、驢、羊、衣服，或是甚麼遺失了的東西，如果一方說：‘這是我的’，這樣，雙方的案件就要帶到審判官（“審判官”原文作“神”）面前，審判官定誰有罪，誰就要雙倍償還給他的鄰舍。

“在耶和華你的神賜給你的各城裡，你要按著各支派設立審判官和官長；他們要按著公義的判斷審判人民。

“不可咒罵神，也不可咒詛你人民的領袖。

撒母耳年老的時候，立了他的兒子作以色列人的士師。他的長子名叫約珥，次子名叫亞比亞，都在別是巴作士師。

“那時，我吩咐你們的審判官，說：‘你們在兄弟中聽訟，無論是兄弟彼此訴訟，或是與同居的外地人訴訟，都要按著公義審判。

哈拿卻沒有上去，因為她對丈夫說：“等孩子斷了奶，我才帶他去朝見耶和華。他要永遠住在那裡。”

你要從人民中間選出有才能的人，就是敬畏神、忠實可信、恨惡不義之財的人，設立他們作千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長，去管理人民，使他們隨時可以審判人民的案件；所有大事件，他們要帶到你這裡來；所有小事件，他們可以自己審判。這樣，你就輕省些，他們也可以和你一同分擔此事。你若是這樣行，神也這樣吩咐你，你就能站立得住，所有的人民也都能平平安安地歸回自己的地方。”於是，摩西聽從他岳父的話，照著他所說的行了。摩西從全體以色列人中選出了有才能的人，立他們作人民的首領，作千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長。他們隨時審判人民的案件；有困難的事件，他們就帶到摩西那裡；所有小事件，由他們自己審判。

祭品和禮物不是你喜悅的。你開通了我的耳朵；燔祭和贖罪祭，不是你要求的。那時我說：“看哪！我來了，經卷上已經記載我的事；我的神啊！我樂意遵行你的旨意；你的律法常在我的心裡。”

我必恢復你的審判官，像起初一樣；也必恢復你的謀士，像起先一般；以後，你必稱為公義的城、忠貞的城。”
