“ Now if someone opens a pit, or digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

“人若敞着井口，或挖井不遮盖，有牛或驴掉在里头，

“人若敞开井口，或挖井不盖住它，有牛或驴掉进井里，

“人若敞开井口，或挖井不盖住它，有牛或驴掉进井里，

倘若有人打开井盖或挖了井后不把井口盖好，以致有牛或驴掉进井里，

“如果有人把井敞开，或是有人挖了井，而不把井口遮盖，以致有牛或驴掉进里面，

「人若敞着井口，或挖井不遮蓋，有牛或驢掉在裏頭，

「人若敞開井口，或挖井不蓋住它，有牛或驢掉進井裏，

「人若敞開井口，或挖井不蓋住它，有牛或驢掉進井裏，

倘若有人打開井蓋或挖了井後不把井口蓋好，以致有牛或驢掉進井裡，

“如果有人把井敞開，或是有人挖了井，而不把井口遮蓋，以致有牛或驢掉進裡面，

『人若把井敞開着，或是開挖了井而不遮蓋着，以致牛或驢掉在裏頭，

如人啟井、或掘井而不蓋、致牛驢陷於中、

或掘阱而不覆其上、或啟井、蓋而不掩、致牛驢陷於中、

人若啟井、或鑿井而不覆蓋、有牛或驢、陷於其中、

“ If anyone uncovers a pit or digs one and fails to cover it and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

“ Suppose someone uncovers a pit or digs one and does not cover it. And suppose an ox or donkey falls into it.

“ When a man opens a pit, or when a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

“ Suppose someone digs or uncovers a pit and fails to cover it, and then an ox or a donkey falls into it.

“ When a man uncovers a pit or digs a pit, and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

“ And if a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls in it,

And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein,

“ When a man uncovers a pit or digs a pit, and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;

“ If a man opens a pit or if a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

“ If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,

One who leads the upright astray in an evil way Will himself fall into his own pit, But the blameless will inherit good.

One who digs a pit may fall into it, and a serpent may bite one who breaks through a wall.

May a cry be heard from their houses When You suddenly bring raiders upon them; For they have dug a pit to capture me And hidden snares for my feet.

The arrogant have dug pits for me, People who are not in accord with Your Law.

The nations have sunk down into the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.

Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You To speak good in their behalf, So as to turn Your wrath away from them.
