“ And if someone strikes the eye of his male or female slave and destroys it, he shall let the slave go free on account of the eye.

“人若打坏了他奴仆或是婢女的一只眼，就要因他的眼放他去得以自由。

“人若打奴仆或婢女的眼睛，毁了一只，就要因他的眼让他自由离去。

“主人若打坏仆婢的一只眼睛，就要因仆婢眼睛受伤而使仆婢得自由。

“如果有人击打他奴仆的一只眼，或婢女的一只眼，把眼打坏了，就要因他的眼的缘故让他自由离去。

「人若打壞了他奴僕或是婢女的一隻眼，就要因他的眼放他去得以自由。

「人若打奴僕或婢女的眼睛，毀了一隻，就要因他的眼讓他自由離去。

「主人若打壞僕婢的一隻眼睛，就要因僕婢眼睛受傷而使僕婢得自由。

“如果有人擊打他奴僕的一隻眼，或婢女的一隻眼，把眼打壞了，就要因他的眼的緣故讓他自由離去。

『人若擊打他奴僕的一隻眼、或使女的一隻眼，把眼打壞了，就要因他（她）眼的緣故、放他（她）自由。

如人擊毀僕婢之一目、必緣其目而釋之、

若擊僕婢、而傷其目、必緣其傷而釋之。

人若擊傷奴婢之目、則必因傷其目而釋之、

“ An owner who hits a male or female slave in the eye and destroys it must let the slave go free to compensate for the eye.

“ Suppose an owner hits a male or female slave in the eye and destroys it. Then the owner must let the slave go free to pay for the eye.

“ When a man strikes the eye of his slave, male or female, and destroys it, he shall let the slave go free because of his eye.

“ If a man hits his male or female slave in the eye and the eye is blinded, he must let the slave go free to compensate for the eye.

“ When a man strikes the eye of his male or female slave and destroys it, he must let the slave go free in compensation for his eye.

“ If a man strikes the eye of his male or female servant, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for the sake of his eye.

And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, and destroy it; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

“ When a man strikes the eye of his male or female slave and destroys it, he must let the slave go free in compensation for his eye.

And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

“ If a man strikes the eye of his male servant or his female servant so that he destroys it, he will let the servant go free as compensation for the eye.

“ If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

You have seen it, for You have looked at harm and provocation to take it into Your hand. The unfortunate commits himself to You; You have been the helper of the orphan.

For he will save the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And he will save the lives of the needy.He will rescue their life from oppression and violence, And their blood will be precious in his sight;

To vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, So that mankind, which is of the earth, will no longer cause terror.

“ And if someone strikes his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies at his hand, he shall be punished.

And now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our children like their children. Yet behold, we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters are forced into bondage already, and we are helpless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

And masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the needy.

“ If I have rejected the claim of my male or female slaves When they filed a complaint against me,What then could I do when God arises? And when He calls me to account, how am I to answer Him?Did He who made me in the womb not make him, And the same one create us in the womb?

You shall not distort justice, you shall not show partiality; and you shall not accept a bribe, because a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous.

Masters, grant your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

Do not rob the poor because he is poor, Nor crush the needy at the gate;For the Lord will plead their case And take the life of those who rob them.
