“ When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies under his abuse, the owner must be punished.

“ Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,

“ Suppose a person beats their male or female slave to death with a club. That person must be punished.

“ When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged.

“ If a man beats his male or female slave with a club and the slave dies as a result, the owner must be punished.

“ And if someone strikes his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies at his hand, he shall be punished.

“ And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished.

And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.

“ When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies under his abuse, the owner must be punished.

And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

“ If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant with a staff so that he or she dies as a result of the blow, he will surely be punished.

“ If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.

Do not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.

If Cain is to be avenged seven times over, then for Lamech it will be seventy-seven times!

For it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For it is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.

A servant cannot be disciplined by words; though he understands, he doesn’t respond.

The avenger of blood himself is to kill the murderer; when he finds him, he is to kill him.

“ If anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death based on the word of witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of one witness.You are not to accept a ransom for the life of someone who is guilty of murder; he must be put to death.Neither should you accept a ransom for the person who flees to his city of refuge, allowing him to return and live in the land before the death of the high priest.“ Do not defile the land where you live, for bloodshed defiles the land, and there can be no atonement for the land because of the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of the person who shed it.
