If a person schemes and willfully acts against his neighbor to murder him, you must take him from my altar to be put to death.

人若任意用诡计杀了他的邻舍，就是逃到我的坛那里，也当捉去把他治死。

人若蓄意用诡计杀了他的邻舍，就是逃到我的坛那里，也当把他捉去处死。

人若蓄意用诡计杀了他的邻舍，就是逃到我的坛那里，也当把他捉去处死。

倘若是蓄意杀人，就算他逃到我的祭坛那里，也要把他拉出来处死。

若有人任意待他的邻舍，用诡计把他杀了，你要把他从我的祭坛那里拿去处死。

人若任意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍，就是逃到我的壇那裏，也當捉去把他治死。

人若蓄意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍，就是逃到我的壇那裏，也當把他捉去處死。

倘若是蓄意殺人，就算他逃到我的祭壇那裡，也要把他拉出來處死。

若擅攻其鄰、以詭計殺之、雖逃於我壇、亦執而殺之、○

如惡謀詭計殺人、雖逋逃於祭壇、亦執以償。

人若因仇用奸計殺人、雖逃至我祭臺、亦當執之而殺、○

But if anyone schemes and kills someone deliberately, that person is to be taken from my altar and put to death.

But suppose they kill someone on purpose. Then take them away from my altar and put them to death.

But if a man willfully attacks another to kill him by cunning, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

However, if someone deliberately kills another person, then the slayer must be dragged even from my altar and be put to death.

If, however, someone is enraged against his neighbor, so as to kill him in a cunning way, you are to take him even from My altar, to be put to death.

“ But if a man acts with premeditation against his neighbor, to kill him by treachery, you shall take him from My altar, that he may die.

And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.

The news reached Joab. Since he had supported Adonijah but not Absalom, Joab fled to the LORD’s tabernacle and took hold of the horns of the altar.It was reported to King Solomon,“ Joab has fled to the LORD’s tabernacle and is now beside the altar.” Then Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada and told him,“ Go and strike him down!”So Benaiah went to the tabernacle and said to Joab,“ This is what the king says:‘ Come out!’” But Joab said,“ No, for I will die here.” So Benaiah took a message back to the king,“ This is what Joab said, and this is how he answered me.”The king said to him,“ Do just as he says. Strike him down and bury him in order to remove from me and from my father’s family the blood that Joab shed without just cause.The LORD will bring back his own blood on his head because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he, without my father David’s knowledge. With his sword, Joab murdered Abner son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army.The responsibility for their deaths will come back to Joab and to his descendants forever, but for David, his descendants, his dynasty, and his throne, there will be peace from the LORD forever.”Benaiah son of Jehoiada went up, struck down Joab, and put him to death. He was buried at his house in the wilderness.

For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

Adonijah was afraid of Solomon, so he got up and went to take hold of the horns of the altar.It was reported to Solomon,“ Look, Adonijah fears King Solomon, and he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying,‘ Let King Solomon first swear to me that he will not kill his servant with the sword.’”

‘ The one who secretly kills his neighbor is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

especially those who follow the polluting desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold, arrogant people! They are not afraid to slander the glorious ones;

The person who acts arrogantly, refusing to listen either to the priest who stands there serving the LORD your God or to the judge, must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.Then all the people will hear about it, be afraid, and no longer behave arrogantly.

When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab pulled him aside to the middle of the city gate, as if to speak to him privately, and there Joab stabbed him in the stomach. So Abner died in revenge for the death of Asahel, Joab’s brother.

So I spoke to you, but you didn’t listen. You rebelled against the LORD’s command and defiantly went up into the hill country.

“ But the person who acts defiantly, whether native or resident alien, blasphemes the LORD. That person is to be cut off from his people.He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the LORD’s word and broken his command; his guilt remains on him.”

But if someone hates his neighbor, lies in ambush for him, attacks him, and strikes him fatally, and flees to one of these cities,the elders of his city are to send for him, take him from there, and hand him over to the avenger of blood and he will die.Do not look on him with pity but purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, and you will prosper.

When a prophet speaks in the LORD’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

Moreover, keep your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule me. Then I will be blameless and cleansed from blatant rebellion.

Joab asked Amasa,“ Are you well, my brother?” Then with his right hand Joab grabbed Amasa by the beard to kiss him.Amasa was not on guard against the sword in Joab’s hand, and Joab stabbed him in the stomach with it and spilled his intestines out on the ground. Joab did not stab him again, and Amasa died. Joab and his brother Abishai pursued Sheba son of Bichri.

Then the priest Jehoiada ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army,“ Take her out between the ranks, and put to death by the sword anyone who follows her,” for the priest had said,“ She is not to be put to death in the LORD’s temple.”

Likewise, if anyone in hatred pushes a person or throws an object at him with malicious intent and he dies,or if in hostility he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must be put to death; he is a murderer. The avenger of blood is to kill the murderer when he finds him.
