“‘ Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.

“‘ Make an altar out of dirt for me. Sacrifice your burnt offerings and friendship offerings on it. Sacrifice your sheep, goats and cattle on it. I will come to you and bless you everywhere I cause my name to be honored.

An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.

“ Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me— your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you.

“ Make an earthen altar for me, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your flocks and herds. I will come to you and bless you in every place where I cause my name to be remembered.

You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.

An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.

I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. (niv)

For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,“ This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. (niv)

The Lord said to him:“ I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. (niv)

take some of the firstfruits of all that you produce from the soil of the land the Lord your God is giving you and put them in a basket. Then go to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name (niv)

May God, who has caused his Name to dwell there, overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to change this decree or to destroy this temple in Jerusalem. I Darius have decreed it. Let it be carried out with diligence. (niv)

And rejoice before the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name— you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, the Levites in your towns, and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows living among you. (niv)

Then to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name— there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord. (niv)

“‘“ The Lord bless you and keep you;the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’“ So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” (niv)

King Rehoboam established himself firmly in Jerusalem and continued as king. He was forty- one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel in which to put his Name. His mother’s name was Naamah; she was an Ammonite. (niv)

You must not sacrifice the Passover in any town the Lord your God gives youexcept in the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name. There you must sacrifice the Passover in the evening, when the sun goes down, on the anniversary of your departure from Egypt. (niv)

They burned your sanctuary to the ground; they defiled the dwelling place of your Name. (niv)

and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say,“ We are safe”— safe to do all these detestable things?Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.“‘ Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel. (niv)

then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name. (niv)

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (niv)

Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. (niv)

but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’ (niv)

May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said,‘ My Name shall be there,’ so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. (niv)

My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty. (niv)

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved. (niv)

If the place where the Lord your God chooses to put his Name is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want. (niv)

Now King David was told,“ The Lord has blessed the household of Obed- Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed- Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. (niv)

He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land— your grain, new wine and olive oil— the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. (niv)

Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. (niv)

Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”“ Woman,” Jesus replied,“ believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (niv)

“ I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. (niv)

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (niv)

“‘ If your offering is a fellowship offering, and you offer an animal from the herd, whether male or female, you are to present before the Lord an animal without defect.You are to lay your hand on the head of your offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash the blood against the sides of the altar.From the fellowship offering you are to bring a food offering to the Lord: the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.Then Aaron’s sons are to burn it on the altar on top of the burnt offering that is lying on the burning wood; it is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.“‘ If you offer an animal from the flock as a fellowship offering to the Lord, you are to offer a male or female without defect.If you offer a lamb, you are to present it before the Lord,lay your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.From the fellowship offering you are to bring a food offering to the Lord: its fat, the entire fat tail cut off close to the backbone, the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering presented to the Lord.“‘ If your offering is a goat, you are to present it before the Lord,lay your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.From what you offer you are to present this food offering to the Lord: the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering, a pleasing aroma. All the fat is the Lord’s.“‘ This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.’” (niv)

His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. (niv)

May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who is the Maker of heaven and earth. (niv)

The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting. He said,“ Speak to the Israelites and say to them:‘ When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.“‘ If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord.You are to lay your hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on your behalf to make atonement for you.You are to slaughter the young bull before the Lord, and then Aaron’s sons the priests shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting.You are to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar.You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.“‘ If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect.You are to slaughter it at the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar.You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to bring all of them and burn them on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.“‘ If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon.The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar.He is to remove the crop and the feathers and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes are.He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the wood that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. (niv)
