Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward

No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, much or little.”And the king said,“ You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.”And the king said to the guard who stood about him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord.Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

“ You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in his lawsuit.Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

“ A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established.If a malicious witness arises to accuse a person of wrongdoing,then both parties to the dispute shall appear before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who are in office in those days.The judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and has accused his brother falsely,then you shall do to him as he had meant to do to his brother. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.And the rest shall hear and fear, and shall never again commit any such evil among you.Your eye shall not pity. It shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.

And set two worthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying,‘ You have cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”And the men of his city, the elders and the leaders who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them. As it was written in the letters that she had sent to them,they proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people.And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.
