Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,If any one sin, and commit a trespass against Jehovah, and deal falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or have oppressed his neighbor,or have found that which was lost, and deal falsely therein, and swear to a lie; in any of all these things that a man doeth, sinning therein;then it shall be, if he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he hath gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found,or any thing about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in full, and shall add the fifth part more thereto: unto him to whom it appertaineth shall he give it, in the day of his being found guilty.And he shall bring his trespass- offering unto Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thy estimation, for a trespass- offering, unto the priest:and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah; and he shall be forgiven concerning whatsoever he doeth so as to be guilty thereby.

Hear this, O ye that would swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail,saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag took away what was put therein.

We shall find all precious substance; We shall fill our houses with spoil;Thou shalt cast thy lot among us; We will all have one purse:My son, walk not thou in the way with them; Refrain thy foot from their path:

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.

And he said unto them, Extort no more than that which is appointed you.And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse any one wrongfully; and be content with your wages.

A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah; But a just weight is his delight.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.

And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

For he hath oppressed and forsaken the poor; He hath violently taken away a house, and he shall not build it up.Because he knew no quietness within him, He shall not save aught of that wherein he delighteth.There was nothing left that he devoured not; Therefore his prosperity shall not endure.In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: The hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.

Thou shalt not have in thy bag diverse weights, a great and a small.Thou shalt not have in thy house diverse measures, a great and a small.A perfect and just weight shalt thou have; a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.For all that do such things, even all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto Jehovah thy God.

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole land: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off on the one side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off on the other side according to it.I will cause it to go forth, saith Jehovah of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name; and it shall abide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in the matter: because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.

and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers.

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:

Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it together.

For they know not to do right, saith Jehovah, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable?Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights?
