In six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea and everything in them. But he rested on the seventh day. So the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

It will be the sign of the covenant I have made between me and the Israelites forever. The Lord made the heavens and the earth in six days. But on the seventh day he did not work. He rested.’ ”

Then Jesus said to them,“ The Sabbath day was made for man. Man was not made for the Sabbath day.So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.”

On the first day of the week we met to break bread and eat together. Paul spoke to the people. He kept on talking until midnight because he planned to leave the next day.

He owns the deepest parts of the earth. The mountain peaks belong to him.The ocean is his, because he made it. He formed the dry land with his hands.Come, let us bow down and worship him. Let us fall on our knees in front of the Lord our Maker.He is our God. We are the sheep belonging to his flock. We are the people he takes good care of. If only you would listen to his voice today.

God blessed them. He said to them,“ Have children so that there will be many of you. Fill the earth and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the seas and the birds in the sky. Rule over every living creature that moves along the ground.”
