but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

But the seventh day is a sabbath to honor the Lord your God. Do not do any work on that day. The same command applies to your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and your animals. It also applies to any outsiders who live in your towns.

惟七日、乃爾上帝耶和華之安息、是日爾與子女、僕婢牛驢、暨諸牲畜、及寓爾家之遠人、皆毋操作、使爾僕婢休憩、與爾無異、當憶昔在埃及、服役於人、爾上帝耶和華以能手奮臂、導爾出之、故命爾守安息日、○

六日間、宜操作、至七日、則安息、稼穡之時、亦當安息、

以色列族居野時、遇人於安息日採薪、攜之至摩西亞倫及會眾前、囚之於獄、因未定擬何以處之、耶和華諭摩西曰、其人必殺勿赦、會眾當於營外擊之以石、遂攜出營外、以石擊斃之、遵耶和華所諭摩西之命、○

至七日、民有出而斂者、索之不得、耶和華諭摩西曰、爾曹不守我誡、不遵我律、將至何時、

歸備香品香膏、當安息日遵誡而安息焉、

如斯土之民於安息日、攜貨物糧食而鬻之、我儕於安息日、或聖日、必不購之、每屆七年、休息土壤、貸金者豁免之、

勿虐旅人、蓋爾曹旅於埃及、悉彼旅情、○六年間、耕種田畝、斂其所產、越至七年、使之休息、留為閒田、以食民之貧者、餘任野獸食之、葡萄園橄欖園亦然、六日間、宜操作、至七日、則安息、使爾牛驢休息、婢子賓旅、得以暢適、

時、我見猶大地、有人於安息日、踐醡運穀、以驢負載、且荷酒葡萄無花菓、及諸負擔、於安息日進耶路撒冷、在其鬻食物之日、我警戒之、有推羅人居其中、攜魚及諸貨物、安息日鬻於猶大人、在耶路撒冷、我斥責猶大顯者曰、爾奚行此惡、以犯安息日、昔爾列祖、豈非行是、致我上帝降諸災於我儕、及斯邑乎、爾今又犯安息、使怒及於以色列、尤有甚焉、我於安息日前夕、耶路撒冷邑門昏黑之時、即命閉之、安息日後方啟、又委我僕數人監門、免人於安息日負荷入邑、商賈及鬻諸貨物者、一再宿於耶路撒冷外、我戒之曰、爾奚附垣而宿、如再行此、我必執爾、此後安息日、彼不復至、

告以色列人云、必守我安息日、於爾我間、歷世為徵、俾知我乃耶和華、使爾成聖、

爾與子女僕婢、暨居爾中之利未人、以及賓旅孤寡、咸在爾上帝耶和華所選寄名之處、樂於其前、爾當追憶、昔在埃及為奴、必守此典、而遵行之、○

七日上帝造物工竣、乃憩息、蓋是日上帝畢其工而安息、遂錫嘏此日、別之為聖、○

貧乏傭人、或爾同族、或寓於爾邑之賓旅、勿虐待之、屆期必給以值、勿至日沒、以其貧乏、厥心在此、恐其籲耶和華、致罪歸爾、○毋因子而殺父、毋因父而殺子、惟依其罪、而殺其人、○賓旅與孤、勿反其正、勿以嫠衣為質、當憶昔在埃及、爾為奴隸、爾上帝耶和華贖爾以出、故我命爾行此、○爾刈田禾、若遺一束、勿返取、當留與賓旅及孤寡、致爾上帝耶和華於爾凡百所為、錫嘏於爾、既撲橄欖、毋得再撲、必歸賓旅及孤寡、既摘葡萄、毋得再摘、必歸賓旅及孤寡、當憶昔在埃及、爾為奴隸、故我命爾行此也、
