but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

But the seventh day is a sabbath to honor the Lord your God. Do not do any work on that day. The same command applies to your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and your animals. It also applies to any outsiders who live in your towns.

但第七日是向耶和华你神当守的安息日。这一日，你和你的儿女、仆婢、牛、驴、牲畜，并在你城里寄居的客旅，无论何工都不可做，使你的仆婢可以和你一样安息。你也要记念你在埃及地作过奴仆；耶和华你神用大能的手和伸出来的膀臂将你从那里领出来。因此，耶和华你的神吩咐你守安息日。

“你六日要做工，第七日要安息，虽在耕种收割的时候也要安息。

以色列人在旷野的时候，遇见一个人在安息日捡柴。遇见他捡柴的人，就把他带到摩西、亚伦并全会众那里，将他收在监内；因为当怎样办他，还没有指明。耶和华吩咐摩西说：“总要把那人治死；全会众要在营外用石头把他打死。”于是全会众将他带到营外，用石头打死他，是照耶和华所吩咐摩西的。

第七天，百姓中有人出去收，什么也找不着。耶和华对摩西说：“你们不肯守我的诫命和律法，要到几时呢？

她们就回去，预备了香料香膏。她们在安息日，便遵着诫命安息了。

这地的居民若在安息日，或什么圣日，带了货物或粮食来卖给我们，我们必不买。每逢第七年必不耕种，凡欠我们债的必不追讨。

“不可欺压寄居的；因为你们在埃及地作过寄居的，知道寄居的心。”“六年你要耕种田地，收藏土产，只是第七年要叫地歇息，不耕不种，使你民中的穷人有吃的；他们所剩下的，野兽可以吃。你的葡萄园和橄榄园也要照样办理。“六日你要做工，第七日要安息，使牛、驴可以歇息，并使你婢女的儿子和寄居的都可以舒畅。

那些日子，我在犹大见有人在安息日榨酒，搬运禾捆驮在驴上，又把酒、葡萄、无花果，和各样的担子在安息日担入耶路撒冷，我就在他们卖食物的那日警戒他们。又有推罗人住在耶路撒冷；他们把鱼和各样货物运进来，在安息日卖给犹大人。我就斥责犹大的贵胄说：“你们怎么行这恶事犯了安息日呢？从前你们列祖岂不是这样行，以致我们神使一切灾祸临到我们和这城吗？现在你们还犯安息日，使忿怒越发临到以色列！”在安息日的前一日，耶路撒冷城门有黑影的时候，我就吩咐人将门关锁，不过安息日不准开放。我又派我几个仆人管理城门，免得有人在安息日担什么担子进城。于是商人和贩卖各样货物的，一两次住宿在耶路撒冷城外。我就警戒他们说：“你们为何在城外住宿呢？若再这样，我必下手拿办你们。”从此以后，他们在安息日不再来了。

“你要吩咐以色列人说：‘你们务要守我的安息日；因为这是你我之间世世代代的证据，使你们知道我耶和华是叫你们成为圣的。

你和你儿女、仆婢，并住在你城里的利未人，以及在你们中间寄居的与孤儿寡妇，都要在耶和华你神所选择立为他名的居所，在耶和华你的神面前欢乐。你也要记念你在埃及作过奴仆。你要谨守遵行这些律例。”

到第七日，神造物的工已经完毕，就在第七日歇了他一切的工，安息了。神赐福给第七日，定为圣日；因为在这日，神歇了他一切创造的工，就安息了。

“困苦穷乏的雇工，无论是你的弟兄或是在你城里寄居的，你不可欺负他。要当日给他工价，不可等到日落，因为他穷苦，把心放在工价上，恐怕他因你求告耶和华，罪便归你了。“不可因子杀父，也不可因父杀子；凡被杀的都为本身的罪。“你不可向寄居的和孤儿屈枉正直，也不可拿寡妇的衣裳作当头。要记念你在埃及作过奴仆。耶和华你的神从那里将你救赎，所以我吩咐你这样行。“你在田间收割庄稼，若忘下一捆，不可回去再取，要留给寄居的与孤儿寡妇。这样，耶和华你神必在你手里所办的一切事上赐福与你。你打橄榄树，枝上剩下的，不可再打；要留给寄居的与孤儿寡妇。你摘葡萄园的葡萄，所剩下的，不可再摘；要留给寄居的与孤儿寡妇。你也要记念你在埃及地作过奴仆，所以我吩咐你这样行。
