but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

But the seventh day is a sabbath to honor the Lord your God. Do not do any work on that day. The same command applies to your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and your animals. It also applies to any outsiders who live in your towns.

“一周工作六天，第七天要休息，就是耕种和收割时也要休息。

以色列人在旷野的时候，发现有人在安息日捡柴，他们就把捡柴的人带到摩西、亚伦和全体会众那里，把他关起来，因为不知道如何处置他。耶和华对摩西说：“必须处死那人，全体会众要在营外用石头打死他。”于是，全体会众照耶和华对摩西的吩咐，把他拉到营外，用石头打死了他。

到了第七天早晨，有些人仍然出去要拾取食物，结果什么也找不到。耶和华对摩西说：“你们到什么时候才肯遵行我的诫命和吩咐呢？

便回家去预备香料和膏油。安息日到了，她们按律法的规定休息了一天。

如果这地方的居民在安息日或其他圣日带来货物和五谷要卖给我们，我们必不购买。我们每逢第七年必不耕种，也必不追讨债务。

不可欺凌在你们中间寄居的人，因为你们也曾经在埃及寄居，知道身在异乡的滋味。“六年之内你要耕种收割，第七年要让土地休息，不耕不种，你们当中的穷人可以吃田中长出来的，剩下的可以留给动物吃。你也要这样耕作葡萄园和橄榄园。六天之内，你要工作，但第七天要休息。这样，牛、驴可以歇息，你家里的奴仆和寄居的也可以休息。

那些天，我在犹大看见有人在安息日榨酒，搬运禾捆驮在驴背上，又在安息日把酒、葡萄、无花果和各样的出产带进耶路撒冷。我就在他们卖食物的那天警告他们。一些住在耶路撒冷的泰尔人运来鱼和各样货物，在安息日卖给耶路撒冷的犹大人。我斥责犹大的贵族说：“你们为何做这恶事干犯安息日？你们的祖先难道不是犯了这样的罪，以致我们的上帝使一切灾祸临到我们和这城吗？如今你们干犯安息日，使上帝的愤怒更多地临到以色列。”我下令在安息日之前夜幕来临时关上耶路撒冷城门，一直到安息日完毕才打开。我又派我的一些仆人把守城门，不准在安息日带货物进城。有一两次，商人和贩卖各样货物的曾在耶路撒冷城外住宿。我警告他们说：“你们为什么在城墙外面住宿呢？若再这样，我必拘捕你们。”从此，他们就不再在安息日来了。

“你要吩咐以色列百姓务必守我的安息日，因为这是我与你们之间世世代代的记号，叫你们知道使你们圣洁的是我耶和华。

你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇在你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所，在祂面前一起欢喜快乐。你们要记住自己曾在埃及做过奴隶，因此要谨遵这些律例。

第七天，上帝完成了祂的创造之工，就在第七天歇了一切的工。上帝赐福给第七天，将其定为圣日，因为祂在这一天歇了祂一切的创造之工。

“不可欺压穷苦的雇工，不论他们是你们的同胞，还是住在你们城中的外族人。你们要在每天日落前付给他们工钱，因为他们穷苦，靠工钱维生；否则他们向耶和华控诉你们，你们就有罪了。“不可因孩子犯罪而处死父亲，也不可因父亲犯罪而处死孩子。各人要自负罪责。“你们要公正地对待寄居者和孤儿，不可拿寡妇的衣物作抵押。要记住，你们曾在埃及做过奴隶，你们的上帝耶和华拯救了你们。所以，我吩咐你们这样行。“如果你们在田间收割庄稼时忘了一捆，不可回去取，要留给孤儿寡妇和寄居者。这样，你们的上帝耶和华必使你们凡事蒙福。你们打橄榄时，打过一次后不可再打，要把剩下的留给孤儿寡妇和寄居者。你们摘葡萄时，摘过一次后不可再摘，要把剩下的留给孤儿寡妇和寄居者。要记住，你们曾在埃及做过奴隶。所以，我吩咐你们这样行。
