他用詭計待我們的宗族，苦待我們的祖宗，強迫他們丟棄嬰孩，使嬰孩不能存活。

你要為自己用歌斐木造一艘方舟，並在方舟內造房間，內外都要抹上瀝青。

他們走後，忽然主的使者在約瑟夢中向他顯現，說：「起來！帶着小孩子和他母親逃往埃及，住在那裏，等我的指示；因為希律要搜尋那小孩子來殺害他。」

他們彼此商量說：「來，讓我們來做磚，把磚燒透了。」他們就拿磚當石頭，又拿柏油當泥漿。

希律見自己被博學之士愚弄，極其憤怒，差人將伯利恆城裏和四境所有的男孩，根據他向博學之士仔細查問到的時間，凡兩歲以內的，都殺盡了。

差遣使者在水面上，坐蒲草船過海。你們這些疾行的使者，要到高大光滑的民那裏去；那民遠近都畏懼，是強大好征服的國，土地有河流穿過。

江河發臭，埃及的河水必然減少而枯乾。蘆葦和蘆荻枯萎，

西訂谷有許多柏油坑。所多瑪王和蛾摩拉王逃跑，掉在坑裏，其餘的人都往山上逃跑。
