他们走了以后，主的使者在梦中向约瑟显现，说：“起来，带着孩子和他母亲逃到埃及去，留在那里，直到我再指示你，因为希律要寻找这孩子，把他杀掉。”

他们彼此说：“来，我们做砖，把砖烧透吧！”他们就把砖当作石头，又把石漆当作灰泥。

希律见自己被星象家愚弄了，就大怒，于是照着他从星象家所问得的日子，下令把伯利恒和附近地方，两岁及以下的小孩全都杀死。

这就是那经常差派使者，在水面上乘坐蒲草船渡海的地方。去吧！快行的使者，到那身躯高大、皮肤光滑的国去，到一个远近都为人所惧怕的民族那里去，这国是强盛和践踏人的，他们的地有河流把地分开。

河道必发臭，埃及众河流的水必消退干涸；苇子和芦荻都必枯萎。

西订谷有许多漆坑。所多玛王和蛾摩拉王逃跑的时候，都掉在坑里，其余的人都向着山上逃跑。
