“過了四十年，在西奈山的曠野，有一位使者，在荊棘中的火燄裡，向摩西顯現。

他不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。神的道日漸興旺，越發廣傳。

埃及人惡待我們，苦害我們，把苦工加在我們身上。於是我們向耶和華我們列祖的神呼求，耶和華聽見了我們的聲音，看見了我們所受的困苦、勞碌和壓迫，

因為萬軍之耶和華的葡萄園就是以色列家，他喜悅的樹就是猶大人；他期望的是公平，但看到的只是流血的事；他期望的是公義，聽到的只是哀叫聲。

希律死後，在埃及，主的使者在夢中向約瑟顯現，說：“那些要殺害這孩子的人已經死了。起來，帶著孩子和他母親回以色列地去吧。”

耶和華的使者再對她說：“看哪，你已經懷了孕，你要生一個兒子；你要給他起名叫以實瑪利，因為耶和華聽見了你的苦情。

這都要在埃及地作萬軍之耶和華的記號和證據。埃及人因受人欺壓向耶和華哀求的時候，他就差派一位拯救者和維護者到他們那裡，他必拯救他們。

急難臨到我的時候，我求告耶和華，我向我的神呼求；他從殿中聽了我的聲音，我在他面前的呼求進了他的耳中。

於是他們在急難中呼求耶和華，他就拯救他們脫離困苦。他發出話語醫治他們，搭救他們脫離死亡。

不可苦待任何孤兒寡婦。如果你們真的苦待他們，他們一向我呼求，我必定聽他們的呼求，並且我要發怒，用刀殺死你們，使你們的妻子成為寡婦，你們的兒女成為孤兒。“如果你借錢給我的人民，就是與你們在一起的窮人，你對待他們不可像放債的人一樣，不可在他們身上取利。如果你拿了鄰居的衣服作抵押，必須在日落之前歸還給他。因為這是他唯一的鋪蓋，是他蔽體的衣服；如果沒有了它，他拿甚麼睡覺呢？如果他向我呼求，我必應允，因為我是滿有恩惠的。

你看見我們的列祖在埃及所受的困苦，垂聽他們在紅海的哀求，

耶和華說：“你作了甚麼事呢？你弟弟的血有聲音從地裡向我呼叫。

耶和華在米甸對摩西說：“你要起程，回到埃及去，因為那些尋索你命的人都死了。”

你要當日給他工錢，不可等到日落，因為他貧窮，把心放在工錢上，免得他對你不滿而呼求耶和華，你就有罪了。

耶和華對以色列人說：“我不是曾經拯救你們脫離埃及人、亞摩利人、亞捫人和非利士人嗎？西頓人、亞瑪力人、馬雲人也都壓迫你們；你們向我哀求，我也拯救你們脫離他們的手。

神說：“我要除去你（“你”原文作“他”）肩頭的重擔，使你（“你”原文作“他”）的手放下筐子。你在患難中呼求，我就搭救你；我在打雷的密雲中回答你，在米利巴的水邊試驗你。”（細拉）

耶和華說：“因為困苦人的冤屈和貧窮人的歎息，我現在要起來，把他們安置在他們渴望的穩妥之中。”

我們向耶和華呼求，他就聽了我們的聲音，派使者把我們從埃及領出來；現在我們就在你邊界上的城加低斯。
