又有撒冷王麥基洗德、帶着餅和酒也出來：他是至高者上帝的祭司。

雅各說：『他平安麼？』他們說：『平安。你看，他女兒拉結正和羣羊一同來呢。』雅各說：『你看，日頭還高，不是牲畜聚集的時候呀；給羊喝水，去放放吧。』他們說：『我們不能；必須等到牧人都聚齊了，人把石頭輥開井口，我們才能給羊喝水。』雅各還和他們說話的時候，拉結和羣羊一同來了；那些羊是她父親的；是她在牧放的。雅各看見他母舅拉班的女兒拉結，又看見他母舅拉班的羊，就走近前去，把石頭輥開井口，給他母舅拉班的羊喝水。

法老給約瑟起名叫撒發那忒巴內亞；又將安城祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給約瑟為妻。約瑟就出來視察埃及地。
