又有撒冷王麥基洗德帶著餅和酒出來；他是至高神的祭司。

雅各接著問他們：「他平安嗎？」他們說：「平安。看哪，他女兒拉結與羊群一同來了！」雅各說：「看哪，現在日頭還高，不是聚攏牲畜的時候；你們給羊群飲了水就去放牧吧！」他們說：「我們不能這麼做！要到所有的羊群都聚攏，石頭從井口挪開後，我們才能給羊群飲水。」雅各正與他們說話時，拉結帶著她父親的羊群來了，因為她是牧羊女。雅各看見他舅舅拉班的女兒拉結和他舅舅拉班的羊群，就過去把石頭從井口上滾開，給他舅舅拉班的羊群飲水。

法老給約瑟起名為撒發那特·巴內亞，又把安城祭司波提·非拉的女兒婭希納給他為妻。約瑟就出去管理埃及地。
