摩西聽見這話就逃走了，寄居於米甸；在那裏生了兩個兒子。

看見田間有一口井，有三羣羊臥在井旁；因為人飲羊羣都是用那井裏的水。井口上的石頭是大的。

他因着信，就離開埃及，不怕王怒；因為他恆心忍耐，如同看見那不能看見的主。

在那裏有雅各井；耶穌因走路困乏，就坐在井旁。那時約有午正。

有人在這城裏逼迫你們，就逃到那城裏去。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城邑，你們還沒有走遍，人子就到了。

通達人見禍藏躲；愚蒙人前往受害。

亞哈將以利亞一切所行的和他用刀殺眾先知的事都告訴耶洗別。耶洗別就差遣人去見以利亞，告訴他說：「明日約在這時候，我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一樣，願神明重重地降罰與我。」以利亞見這光景就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，將僕人留在那裏，

以利亞聽見，就用外衣蒙上臉，出來站在洞口。有聲音向他說：「以利亞啊，你在這裏做甚麼？」他說：「我為耶和華－萬軍之神大發熱心；因為以色列人背棄了你的約，毀壞了你的壇，用刀殺了你的先知，只剩下我一個人，他們還要尋索我的命。」

約雅敬王和他眾勇士、眾首領聽見了烏利亞的話，王就想要把他治死。烏利亞聽見就懼怕，逃往埃及去了。約雅敬王便打發亞革波的兒子以利拿單，帶領幾個人往埃及去。他們就從埃及將烏利亞帶出來，送到約雅敬王那裏；王用刀殺了他，把他的屍首拋在平民的墳地中。）

基土拉給他生了心蘭、約珊、米但、米甸、伊施巴，和書亞。

以掃見以撒已經給雅各祝福，而且打發他往巴旦‧亞蘭去，在那裏娶妻，並見祝福的時候囑咐他說：「不要娶迦南的女子為妻」，又見雅各聽從父母的話往巴旦‧亞蘭去了，

米甸的兒子是以法、以弗、哈諾、亞比大，和以勒大。這都是基土拉的子孫。

耶和華在米甸對摩西說：「你要回埃及去，因為尋索你命的人都死了。」
