摩西因为这句话，就逃到米甸地寄居，在那里生了两个儿子。

黄昏时分，女人出来打水的时候，那仆人就叫骆驼跪在城外的水井旁边，

他看见田间有一口井；有三群羊躺卧在井旁，因为人都是用那井里的水给羊群喝；井口上有一块大石头。

因着信，他离开了埃及，不怕王的忿怒；因为他坚定不移，就像看见了人不能看见的神。

在那里有雅各井。耶稣因为旅途疲倦了，就坐在井旁；那时大约正午。

如果有人在这城迫害你们，就逃到别的城去。我实在告诉你们，你们还没有走遍以色列的各城，人子就来到了。

精明人看见灾祸，就躲藏起来；愚蒙人却往前走，自取祸害。

亚哈把以利亚所行的一切，和他用刀杀死众先知的一切事，都告诉了耶洗别。耶洗别就差派一个使者去见以利亚说：“明天这个时候，如果我不使你的性命，像那些人一样，愿神明惩罚我，并且加倍惩罚我。”以利亚害怕，就起来，逃命去了。他到了犹大的别是巴，就把自己的仆人留在那里。

以利亚听见了，就用自己的外衣蒙着脸，走出来，站在洞口。忽然有声音向他说：“以利亚啊，你在这里干什么？”以利亚说：“我为耶和华万军的神大发热心，因为以色列人背弃了你的约，拆毁了你的祭坛，用刀杀了你的众先知，只剩下我一个人，他们还在寻索，要取去我的性命。”

约雅敬王和他所有的勇士，以及犹大的众领袖听见了乌利亚的话，王就想要杀他。乌利亚听见了，就惧怕，就逃往埃及去。约雅敬王打发人到埃及去，就是派亚革波的儿子以利拿单和一些人同到埃及去。他们就把乌利亚从埃及带出来，送到约雅敬王那里。王用刀杀死他，把他的尸体抛在平民的坟地里。

基土拉给他生了心兰、约珊、米但、米甸、伊施巴和书亚。

以扫见以撒给雅各祝福，又打发他到巴旦．亚兰去，在那里娶妻；又见以撒给雅各祝福的时候，吩咐他说：“你不可娶迦南的女子为妻”；又见雅各听从了他父母的话，到巴旦．亚兰去了；

米甸的儿子是以法、以弗、哈诺、亚比大和以勒大。这些人都是基土拉的子孙。

耶和华在米甸对摩西说：“你要起程，回到埃及去，因为那些寻索你命的人都死了。”
