你今日宣认耶和华为你的神，承诺遵行他的道，谨守他的律例、诫命、典章，听从他的话。耶和华今日照他所应许你的，也认你为他宝贵的子民，叫你谨守他的一切诫命，要使你得称赞、美名、尊荣，超乎他所造的万国之上，并且照他所应许的，使你归耶和华—你的神为神圣的子民。”

百姓对约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华—我们的神，听从他的话。”

都随从他们贵族的弟兄发咒起誓，要遵行神藉他仆人摩西所赐的律法，谨守遵行耶和华—我们主的一切诫命、典章、律例。

求你近前去，听耶和华—我们神所要说的一切话，将耶和华—我们神对你说的话都传给我们，我们就听从遵行。’“你们对我说的话，耶和华都听见了。耶和华对我说：‘这百姓对你说的话，我听见了；他们所说的都对。惟愿他们存这样的心敬畏我，常遵守我一切的诫命，使他们和他们的子孙永远得福。
