The LORD directed Moses,“ Go down and warn the people not to break through to see the LORD; otherwise many of them will die.

耶和华对摩西说：“你下去嘱咐百姓，不可闯过来到我面前观看，恐怕他们有多人死亡；

耶和华对摩西说：“你下去警告百姓，免得他们闯过来看耶和华，就会有许多人死亡。

耶和華曰、爾下、告於有眾、勿踰越以窺我、恐多殞沒。

主諭摩西曰、爾下戒民、毋越界近我前以窺、恐其有多人死亡、

and the Lord said to him,“ Go down and warn the people so they do not force their way through to see the Lord and many of them perish.

The Lord said to him,“ Go down and warn the people. They must not force their way through to see the Lord. If they do, many of them will die.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to the Lord to look and many of them perish.

Then the Lord told Moses,“ Go back down and warn the people not to break through the boundaries to see the Lord, or they will die.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses:“ Go down, warn the people, so that they do not break through to the Lord to stare, and many of them perish.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish.

Yahweh said to Moses,“ Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Yahweh to gaze, and many of them perish.

God struck down the people of Beth-shemesh because they looked inside the ark of the LORD. He struck down seventy persons. The people mourned because the LORD struck them with a great slaughter.

“ Do not come closer,” he said.“ Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

But he added,“ You cannot see my face, for humans cannot see me and live.”

Put boundaries for the people all around the mountain and say: Be careful that you don’t go up on the mountain or touch its base. Anyone who touches the mountain must be put to death.No hand may touch him; instead he will be stoned or shot with arrows and not live, whether animal or human. When the ram’s horn sounds a long blast, they may go up the mountain.”

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Better to approach in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do, for they ignorantly do wrong.

So Moses thought,“ I must go over and look at this remarkable sight. Why isn’t the bush burning up?”

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,for our God is a consuming fire.
