「這是耶和華在山上的烈火、烏雲和幽暗中高聲頒佈給你們全體會眾的誡命。此外，祂沒有說別的。祂把這些話寫在兩塊石版上交給我。

我眺望群山，大山在顫抖，小山在搖晃。

「耶和華從西奈山來，在西珥山向我們顯現，祂從巴蘭山發出光輝；祂帶著千萬聖者來臨，祂右邊有閃耀的光芒。

太陽下山後，大地黑暗，突然有冒煙的火爐和點著的火炬在肉塊中經過。

那時上帝的聲音震動了大地，但現在祂應許說：「再一次，我不單要震動地，還要震動天。」

他們的聲音震動聖殿的根基，聖殿裡煙雲彌漫。

耶和華說：「你出來站在山上，站在我面前。」耶和華從那裡經過時，疾風大作，劈山碎石，但耶和華不在風中。疾風過後又有地震，但耶和華不在其中。地震之後又有火，但耶和華也不在火中。之後，傳來微小的聲音。

所羅門禱告完畢，就有火從天上降下，燒盡了燔祭和其他祭物。殿裡充滿了耶和華的榮光，以致祭司不能進殿。全體以色列人看見有火降下，又看見耶和華的榮光停在殿上，便俯伏敬拜，稱謝耶和華說：「耶和華是美善的，祂的慈愛永遠長存。」

懲罰那些不認識上帝、不聽從有關我們主耶穌之福音的人。

你們要從我的這山谷逃跑，因為山谷必延伸到亞薩。你們必像猶大王烏西雅年間的人躲避大地震一樣逃跑。我的上帝耶和華必帶著所有的聖者降臨。

民族將與民族互鬥，國家將與國家相爭，各處將有饑荒和地震。

不過，主再來的日子要像賊一樣突然臨到。那日，諸天必在一聲巨響中消失，有形有質的都要被烈火焚毀，大地和其中的一切將不復存在。

在祂面前，群山震動，丘陵消融。在祂面前，大地隆起，世界和世上的一切都戰慄。祂發怒，誰能站立？祂發烈怒，誰能承受？祂的憤怒如火焰噴湧而出，磐石在祂面前崩裂。

你們來到山腳下，站在那裡，山上烈焰沖天、烏雲密佈、極其幽暗。耶和華在火焰中對你們說話，你們只聽見祂的聲音，卻看不見祂的形像。

大地啊，你要在主面前，在雅各的上帝面前戰抖，

你們不可用手觸摸違例者，要用石頭打死他或用箭射死他，牲畜也不例外。百姓要一直等到聽見角聲長鳴才可上山。」

旋風中傳來你的雷聲，你的閃電照亮世界，大地顫抖震動。

那時雷電交加，號角嘹亮，山上冒煙，百姓看見此情景，都嚇得渾身顫抖，不敢挨近。
