他以黑暗作他的藏身處，以眾水的黑暗、天空的烏雲作他四周的帷幕。冰雹和火炭從他面前的光輝中而出，穿過了烏雲。耶和華在天上發出雷鳴，至高者發出他的聲音，伴隨著冰雹和火炭；他發出箭矢，使仇敵四散，發出眾多閃電，使他們潰亂。

那景象實在可怕，連摩西也說：「我非常害怕戰兢。」

從寶座中發出閃電、聲音和雷鳴；在寶座前，有七支燃燒著的火把，就是神的七個靈；

你的雷聲在旋風中，你的閃電照亮世界，大地顫抖震動。

接著，那位天使拿起香爐，把它裝滿了祭壇上的火，扔到地上；於是就有雷鳴、聲音、閃電和地震。

隨後，神在天上的聖所開了，他的約櫃在他聖所中顯現。接著有閃電、聲音、雷鳴、地震和大冰雹。

今日不是收割小麥的時候嗎？我向耶和華呼求，他就會降下雷雨。這樣你們就會知道並看見你們為自己要求一個王，在耶和華眼中是行了極大的惡事！」於是撒母耳向耶和華呼求，耶和華就在那日降下雷雨，全體民眾都非常懼怕耶和華和撒母耳。

耶和華的聲音在眾水之上，榮耀的神打雷；耶和華在大水之上。耶和華的聲音帶著能力，耶和華的聲音帶著威嚴。耶和華的聲音震斷香柏樹，耶和華震斷黎巴嫩的香柏樹。他使黎巴嫩跳躍如牛犢，使西連跳躍如野牛犢。耶和華的聲音劈下火焰。耶和華的聲音震撼曠野，耶和華震撼加低斯的曠野。耶和華的聲音使母鹿分娩，使林中的樹木凋零光禿；凡在他聖殿中的都說：「榮耀啊！」耶和華坐在洪水之上，耶和華坐著為王，直到永遠。耶和華賜力量給他的子民，耶和華以平安祝福他的子民。

我們的神來臨，絕不沉默；烈火在他面前吞噬，暴風在他四圍颳起。

有一個主日，我在靈裡，聽見我後面有一個大聲音，如同號角聲，

他的閃電照亮世界，大地看見了就震撼。
