Then he said to the people,“ Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations.”

Then he spoke to the people. He said,“ Get ready for the third day. Don’t have sex.”

And he said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”

He told them,“ Get ready for the third day, and until then abstain from having sexual intercourse.”

He said to the people,“ Be prepared by the third day. Do not have sexual relations with women.”

He also said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”

And he said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.”

And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not near a woman.

And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at[ your] wives.

He said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day. Do not go near your wives.”

He said to the people,“ Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”

The priest told him,“ There is no ordinary bread on hand. However, there is consecrated bread, but the young men may eat it only if they have kept themselves from women.”David answered him,“ I swear that women are being kept from us, as always when I go out to battle. The young men’s bodies are consecrated even on an ordinary mission, so of course their bodies are consecrated today.”

Do not deprive one another sexually— except when you agree for a time, to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

and be prepared by the third day, for on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

by asking the priests who were at the house of the Lord of Hosts as well as the prophets,“ Should we mourn and fast in the fifth month as we have done these many years?”

On the third day, when morning came, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud on the mountain, and a loud trumpet sound, so that all the people in the camp shuddered.

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will be able to stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire and like cleansing lye.

This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Even now the ax is ready to strike the root of the trees! Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.“ I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.His winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the barn. But the chaff He will burn up with fire that never goes out.”

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godlinessas you wait for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God. The heavens will be on fire and be dissolved because of it, and the elements will melt with the heat.

The land will mourn, every family by itself: the family of David’s house by itself and their women by themselves; the family of Nathan’s house by itself and their women by themselves;the family of Levi’s house by itself and their women by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself and their women by themselves;all the remaining families, every family by itself, and their women by themselves.
