Moses told his father-in-law about everything the Lord had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake and about all the hardships they had met along the way and how the Lord had saved them.

耶和华救赎的人，就是祂从敌人手中救赎出来、从东西南北招聚的人，都要称谢祂。

他们忘记了祂的大能，忘记了祂救他们脱离压迫的日子，也忘记了祂在埃及所行的神迹，在琐安的田野所行的奇事。

“你看见我们祖先在埃及所受的苦，又听见他们在红海边的呼求，就行神迹奇事对付法老及其所有的臣仆和国民，因为你知道他们对以色列人行事狂傲。你使自己威名远扬直到今日。你在我们祖先面前把海水分开，使他们在海中走干地过去；你把追赶他们的人扔进深海，好像把石头扔进大水中。白天，你用云柱带领他们；夜间，你用火柱照亮他们当走的路。你降临在西奈山，从天上与他们说话，赐给他们公正的典章、信实的律法、美好的律例和诫命。你使他们知道你的神圣安息日，借你仆人摩西赐给他们诫命、律例和法度。他们饿了，你赐下天粮给他们吃；他们渴了，你使磐石流出水给他们喝。你吩咐他们去占领你起誓赐给他们的土地。

耶和华啊，你大能的右手显出荣耀；耶和华啊，你的右手击碎仇敌。

愿世世代代颂赞你的事迹，传扬你大能的作为。我要默想你的荣耀、威严和奇妙作为。人们要述说你令人敬畏的大能作为，我也要传扬你的伟大事迹。他们要诉说你的厚恩，歌颂你的公义。耶和华有恩典和怜悯，不轻易发怒，充满慈爱。耶和华善待万民，怜悯祂所造的万物。耶和华啊，你所创造的万物都要称谢你，你忠心的子民也要称颂你。他们要述说你国度的荣耀，讲论你的大能，好让世人知道你大能的作为和你国度的威严与荣耀。

敬畏上帝的人啊，你们都来听吧，我要告诉你们祂为我所做的事。

你们要称谢耶和华，呼求祂的名，在列邦传扬祂的作为。要歌颂、赞美祂，述说祂一切奇妙的作为。

“我们还不如当初在埃及就死在耶和华手中。在那里，我们至少可以围在肉锅旁吃个饱。现在，你把我们带到旷野来，是要叫全体会众饿死在这里吗？”

这孩子不和我一同回去，我如何见我父亲呢？我不愿看到灾难临到我父亲。”

摩西带领以色列人离开红海，来到书珥旷野，走了三天仍然找不到水喝。到了玛拉，那里的水却是苦的，不能喝。因此那地方叫玛拉。百姓就埋怨摩西说：“我们喝什么呢？”

惊骇恐惧笼罩着他们。耶和华啊，你臂膀的大能吓得他们僵立如石，直到你的子民都安然走过，直到你买赎的子民都安然走过。

上帝啊，我从小就受你的教导，直到今日我仍传扬你奇妙的作为。上帝啊，就是我年老发白的时候，求你也不要丢弃我，好让我把你的大能告诉下一代，世代相传。上帝啊，你的公义高达穹苍，你成就了奇妙大事。上帝啊，有谁能像你？你使我经历了许多患难，最终必使我重获新生，救我脱离死亡的深渊。
