你和这些与你在一起的百姓都必疲惫，因为这事太重，你独自一人做不了。

撒母耳不喜悦他们说“立一个王治理我们”，他就向耶和华祷告。耶和华对撒母耳说：“你只管听从百姓向你说的一切话，因为他们不是厌弃你，而是厌弃我，不要我作他们的王。

军兵却说：“你不可出战。若是我们逃跑，敌人不会把心放在我们身上；我们阵亡一半，敌人也不会把心放在我们身上。但现在你一人抵过我们万人，所以你最好留在城里支援我们。”

然而，我为你们肉身活着更加要紧。既然我这样深信，就知道仍要留在世间，且与你们众人一起存留，使你们在所信的道上又长进又喜乐，
