If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”

你和這些百姓都會疲憊不堪，你一個人無法擔當如此繁重的工作。

撒母耳聽到他們要求立一個王治理他們，心中不悅，就向耶和華禱告。耶和華對撒母耳說：「你照他們所說的去做吧，因為他們不是拒絕你，而是拒絕我做他們的王。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「照他們說的去為他們立一個王吧。」於是，撒母耳對以色列人說：「你們各人回自己的城去吧。」

他們卻說：「請我王不要出戰。因為如果我們敗逃，敵方不會放在心上；即使我們一半人陣亡，敵方也不會放在心上。你一人比我們一萬人更寶貴。你還是留在城中支援我們吧。」

可是為了你們，我應該活在世上。我既然對此深信不疑，就知道自己仍要活下去，繼續跟你們在一起，好使你們在信仰上又長進又充滿喜樂。

耶和華跟亞伯拉罕說完話便離開了，亞伯拉罕也回家去了。

就對亞伯拉罕說：「趕走這婢女和她的兒子，因為這婢女的兒子不可和我的兒子以撒一同承受產業。」亞伯拉罕因兒子以實瑪利的事非常煩惱。上帝對亞伯拉罕說：「你不要再為這孩子和你的婢女煩惱，只管照撒拉的意思去做，因為以撒生的才可算為你的後代。

拉結生約瑟以後，雅各對拉班說：「請讓我走吧！我想回故鄉，

我是遵照上帝的啟示去的。我私下拜會了那些有名望的教會領袖，陳明我在外族人中間所傳的福音，免得我過去或是現在的努力都白費了。

王和眾人過了約旦河以後，就親吻巴西萊，為他祝福。巴西萊返回了家鄉。

洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩趕來救駕，殺死了非利士巨人。這事以後，大衛的部下向他起誓說：「你絕不可再跟我們一起出戰，免得以色列的燈熄滅。」

保羅和巴拿巴為這件事與他們激烈地辯論，最後大家決定派保羅、巴拿巴和幾個當地的信徒上耶路撒冷去跟使徒和長老討論這件事。

要知道，耶和華已將安息日賜給你們，所以第六天我會賜你們雙倍的食物。第七天，人人都要留在營中，不許外出。」
