So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites,“ In the evening you will know that it was the Lord who brought you out of Egypt,

“以色列人的怨言，我已经听见了。你告诉他们说：‘黄昏的时候你们必吃肉，早晨的时候必有食物吃饱；这样，你们就知道我耶和华是你们的神了。’”到了晚上，有鹌鹑飞上来，把营都遮盖了；到了早晨，营的四周有一层露水。

如果耶和华作一件新事，使地开口，把他们和他们所有的都吞下去，叫他们活活地下到阴间，这样你们就知道这些人是藐视耶和华了。”

摩西说：“由此你们可以知道，我作这一切事，是耶和华派我作的，并不是出于我自己的心意。

那时，他们想起古时的日子，就是摩西和他的人民的日子，说：那把人民和他羊群的牧者从海里领上来的，在哪里呢？那把自己的圣灵降在他们中间的，在哪里呢？那使自己荣耀的膀臂在摩西的右边行走，那在他们面前把水分开，为要建立永远的名的，他在哪里呢？

耶和华对摩西说：“你下山去吧，因为你的人民，就是你从埃及地领出来的，已经败坏了。

你曾藉着摩西和亚伦的手，带领你的子民如同带领羊群一样。

就在这一天，耶和华按着他们的军队，把以色列人从埃及地领出来。

摩西又说：“耶和华晚上必给你们肉吃，早晨必给你们食物吃饱，因为耶和华听见了你们埋怨他所说的怨言了。我们算什么？你们的怨言不是向我们发的，而是向耶和华发的。”

摩西就恳求耶和华他的神施恩，说：“耶和华啊，你为什么向你的人民发烈怒呢？这人民是你用大能和全能的手从埃及地领出来的。

以色列人对他们说：“我们宁愿在埃及地坐在肉锅旁边，吃饭吃到饱的时候，死在耶和华的手里！你们倒把我们领出来，到这旷野，是要叫这全体会众饿死啊！”

人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”
