接著，祂對眾人說：「你們要小心防範一切的貪心，因為人的生命並不在於家道富足。」

其實摩西為人十分謙和，比世上任何人都謙和。

「不要為自己在世上積攢財寶，世上有蟲子咬，會生銹，又有賊闖進來偷。

要變賣你們的家產去賙濟窮人，要為自己預備永不破損的錢袋，在天上積攢取之不盡的財寶，那裡沒有賊偷，也沒有蟲蛀。

摩西非常憤怒，就對耶和華說：「求你不要接納他們的祭物。我沒有取過他們一頭驢，也沒有害過他們任何人。」

不要貪愛錢財，要對自己擁有的知足，因為上帝說過：「我永不撇下你，也不離棄你。」

耶穌看見後很生氣，對門徒說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要阻止他們，因為上帝的國屬於這樣的人。

不要因生氣而犯罪，不要到日落時還怒氣未消，

耶穌生氣地看著四周這些人，為他們的心剛硬而感到難過。祂對那人說：「把手伸出來！」那人一伸手，手就立刻復原了。

你們的財物朽壞了，衣服也被蟲蛀了。你們的金銀生了鏽，那鏽必要指控你們，像火一樣吞噬你們的身體。在末世的日子裡，你們只知道積攢財寶。
