大衛擊敗了非利士人回來，眾人來到的時候，有婦女們從以色列各城裏出來歌唱，有舞蹈的婦女帶着手鼓和樂器歡歡喜喜地出來迎接掃羅王。

耶弗他往米斯巴、到了自己的家，哎呀，他女兒拿着手鼓舞蹈着、出來迎接他來了；這是他的獨生女；此外就無兒無女。

要擊手鼓舞蹈頌讚他；要用絲絃的樂器和簫笛頌讚他！

暗蘭的妻名叫約基別，是利未的女兒，利未在埃及所生的；她給暗蘭生了亞倫、摩西、和他們的姐姐米利暗。

我曾將你從埃及地領上來，將你從為奴之家贖救出來；我也差遣摩西、亞倫和米利暗在你前面領路。

歌唱的在前頭，作樂的在後頭，中間有童女擊着鼗鼓：

願他們將舞蹈頌讚他的名，用手鼓和琴作樂讚揚他。

大衛和以色列全家用詩歌、拿琴瑟、手鼓、響板和鐃鈸在永恆主面前極力嬉戲作樂。

正月間、以色列人全會眾到了尋的曠野，人民就住在加低斯；米利暗死在那裏，也埋葬在那裏。

但凡女人當眾禱告、或傳講神言，若不蒙着頭，也就是侮辱她自己的頭；因為那是跟剃了頭髮一般無二的。

然後你要到基比亞以羅欣，在那裏有非利士人的駐防兵；你到了那城的時候，在那裏必突然遇見一班神言人從邱壇下來，他們前頭有琵琶、手鼓、笛、琴；這些人都受感動而發神言狂。

永恆主的櫃進大衛城的時候、掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裏眺望着，看見大衛王在永恆主面前踴躍着跳旋轉舞，心裏就鄙視他。

婦女們在各集會中要閉口不言，像聖徒的眾教會中一樣。因為她們當眾說話是不被准許的；她們乃要順服，正如律法所說的。

大衛在永恆主面前極力跳旋轉舞；大衛是束着細麻布聖裲襠的。

這個人有四個女兒，是處女，能說豫言。
