暗蘭的妻子叫約基別，是利未女子，出生在埃及。她給暗蘭生了亞倫、摩西和他們的姐姐米利暗。

我曾帶領你們離開埃及，把你們從受奴役之地救贖出來，又差遣摩西、亞倫和米利暗引領你們。

歌唱的在前，奏樂的殿後，搖手鼓的少女居中。

願他們跳舞讚美祂的名，擊鼓彈琴歌頌祂。

當時做士師的是一位名叫底波拉的女先知，她是拉比多的妻子，

嬰兒的姐姐遠遠地站著，要看看她的弟弟究竟會怎樣。

見到示羅的女子出來跳舞時，就衝出去各自搶一個，帶回便雅憫做妻子。

亞設支派中有一位八十四歲高齡的女先知名叫亞拿，是法內利的女兒，婚後七年便開始守寡，之後一直住在聖殿裡，禁食禱告，日夜事奉上帝。

於是，希勒迦祭司、亞希甘、亞革波、沙番和亞撒雅去求問女先知戶勒妲。她是負責管理禮服的沙龍的妻子，沙龍是哈珥哈斯的孫子、特瓦的兒子。戶勒妲住在耶路撒冷第二區。他們向她說明來意。

要唱詩，擊鼓，彈起琴瑟。

米利暗和亞倫因摩西娶了一個古實的女子而批評他，說：

大衛和全體以色列人在耶和華面前用琴、瑟、鼓、鈸和鑼奏樂，盡情歌舞。

一月，以色列全體會眾抵達荀曠野，在加低斯安營。米利暗離世，葬在那裡。

但婦女在禱告和講道時，若不蒙著頭，就是羞辱自己的頭，因為她就像剃光了頭髮一樣。

此後，你會去上帝的山，那裡有非利士人的駐軍。你一進城，就會遇見一群先知從邱壇下來，前面有人鼓瑟、敲鼓、吹笛、彈琴，先知們會說預言。

你把我的哀哭變成了舞步，為我脫下悲傷的麻衣，披上喜樂的外袍，

耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶看見大衛在耶和華面前又跳又舞，心裡就輕視他。

正如聖徒的各教會一樣，婦女在聚會中要保持安靜，因為她們不可以發言，總要順服，正如律法書所說的。

大衛穿著細麻布的以弗得在耶和華面前盡情跳舞。

腓利有四個未出嫁的女兒，都能說預言。
