約瑟的子孫說：『那山地容不下我們，並且住山谷之地所有的迦南人、就是住伯善和屬伯善廂鎮的人、以及住耶斯列山谷的人、都有鐵車。』約書亞對約瑟家、以法蓮和瑪拿西人、說：『你們族民多，並且大有勢力，不可只有一鬮之地；山地也要歸於你們；雖是森林，你們也可以砍下來；它的邊界也可以歸於你們；迦南人雖有鐵車，雖然強大，你們也能把他們趕出。』
