When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said,“ What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!”

The king of Egypt was told that the people had escaped. Then Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them. They said,“ What have we done? We’ve let the people of Israel go! We’ve lost our slaves and all the work they used to do for us!”

When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said,“ What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

When word reached the king of Egypt that the Israelites had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds.“ What have we done, letting all those Israelite slaves get away?” they asked.

敵人的心轉而恨惡永恆主的人民，設詭計害他僕人。

倘若他們既因認識我們的主、救主耶穌基督、而逃脫了世俗的染污，又在其中被纏住被制勝着，那麼他們末後的景況就比先前的更壞了。他們認識了正義之路以後，若從所傳授給他們的聖誡上退轉下去，那倒不如沒有認識過好啊。『狗轉過身來，喫自己所嘔吐的』；『豬洗了身，又去污泥裏打滾！』這真實的俗語所說的、已在這些人身上得證實了。

『污靈從人裏面出來，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇，卻尋不着；就說：「我要回到我所由出的屋裏去。」他來到，見已打掃乾淨，修飾齊整。便去，另外帶了七個比自己更邪惡的靈來，進去，住在那裏；那人末後的景況比先前的更壞了。』

所有入了約的首領和眾民都聽從了，各送他的奴僕和婢女自由出去，誰也不再叫他們做奴僕；他們都聽從，而送僕婢出去了。以後卻又後悔，叫所送出去自由的奴僕婢女又回來，強迫他們做僕婢。於是有永恆主的話從永恆主那裏傳與耶利米說：『永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：我、將你們列祖從埃及地從為奴之家領出來的那日子，跟你們列祖立了約，說：「一個希伯來人賣給你的，他服事了你六年，到第七年，你們各人總要送自己的希伯來族弟兄、使他離開你而自由。」但你們列祖卻不聽從我，不傾耳以聽。今日你們，你們回心轉意，行我所看為對的事，各人給鄰舍宣告自由，並在稱為我名下的殿中、當着我面前立了約；你們卻又後悔，褻瀆了我的名，各人叫所送出去隨意自由的奴僕和婢女又回來，強迫他們仍做你們的僕婢。故此永恆主這麼說：你們各人沒有聽從我，而給族弟兄、給鄰舍宣告自由，看吧，永恆主發神諭說，我給你們宣告另一種自由，把你們自由的交於刀劍饑荒和瘟疫之下，使你們做地上萬國所不寒而慄的對象。

埃及人催促以色列民，打發他們趕快離開埃及地，因為埃及人說：『我們都快要死了。』
