我必使之剛愎厥心、追襲於後、我將獲榮於法老、及其軍旅、俾埃及人知我為耶和華、以色列人遂如是行、

法老剛愎厥心、追襲爾後、我姑聽之、迨殲法老、覆其軍、以獲大榮、使埃及人知行是事者、我耶和華也。以色列族遵命而行。○

我使法老剛愎其心、追以色列人、我則因法老與其全軍而獲大榮、俾伊及人知我乃主、以色列人遂如此行、

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites did this.

I will make Pharaoh stubborn. He will chase them. But I will gain glory for myself because of what will happen to Pharaoh and his whole army. And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites camped by the Red Sea.

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” So the Israelites camped there as they were told.

What if God, willing to show his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

The Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand on Egypt, and bring the children of Israel out from among them.”

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth,

Yahweh says,“ In this you shall know that I am Yahweh. Behold: I will strike with the rod that is in my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

Behold, I myself will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will go in after them. I will get myself honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.The Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh when I have gotten myself honor over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.”

The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people you have purchased pass over.

The king spoke and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?”While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from the sky, saying,“ O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken:‘ The kingdom has departed from you.You shall be driven from men; and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field. You shall be made to eat grass as oxen. Seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.’”This was fulfilled the same hour on Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky, until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation.All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can stop his hand, or ask him,“ What are you doing?”At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.

After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,“ Hallelujah! Salvation, power, and glory belong to our God;for his judgments are true and righteous. For he has judged the great prostitute, who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.”A second said,“ Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever.”The twenty- four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying,“ Amen! Hallelujah!”A voice came from the throne, saying,“ Give praise to our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!”I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying,“ Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!

Yahweh said to Moses,“ When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.You shall tell Pharaoh,‘ Yahweh says, Israel is my son, my firstborn,and I have said to you,“ Let my son go, that he may serve me;” and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your firstborn son.’”On the way at a lodging place, Yahweh met Moses and wanted to kill him.Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said,“ Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”So he let him alone. Then she said,“ You are a bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.Yahweh said to Aaron,“ Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.Moses told Aaron all Yahweh’s words with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.Aaron spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.Yahweh said to Moses,“ Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; for the children of Israel went out with a high hand.

The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the arrogance of men will be bowed down, and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and arrogant, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low:

Yes, all the people of the land will bury them; and they will become famous in the day that I will be glorified,” says the Lord Yahweh.

Now I know that Yahweh is greater than all gods because of the way that they treated people arrogantly.”

and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is today.

According as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”

and say,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I am against you, Sidon. I will be glorified among you. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have executed judgments in her, and am sanctified in her.
