這是耶穌所行的頭一件神蹟，是在加利利的迦拿行的，顯出他的榮耀來；他的門徒就信他了。

那些來看馬利亞的猶太人見了耶穌所做的事，就多有信他的；

當耶穌在耶路撒冷過逾越節的時候，有許多人看見他所行的神蹟，就信了他的名。耶穌卻不將自己交託他們；因為他知道萬人，也用不着誰見證人怎樣，因他知道人心裏所存的。

那些在磐石上的，就是人聽道，歡喜領受，但心中沒有根，不過暫時相信，及至遇見試煉就退後了。

耶穌說這話的時候，就有許多人信他。耶穌對信他的猶太人說：「你們若常常遵守我的道，就真是我的門徒；你們必曉得真理，真理必叫你們得以自由。」

耶和華對摩西說：「我要在密雲中臨到你那裏，叫百姓在我與你說話的時候可以聽見，也可以永遠信你了。」於是，摩西將百姓的話奏告耶和華。

我因懼怕你，肉就發抖；我也怕你的判語。

次日清早，眾人起來往提哥亞的曠野去。出去的時候，約沙法站着說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要聽我說：信耶和華－你們的神就必立穩；信他的先知就必亨通。」

那時，他們才信了他的話，歌唱讚美他。等不多時，他們就忘了他的作為，不仰望他的指教，

百姓就信了。以色列人聽見耶和華眷顧他們，鑒察他們的困苦，就低頭下拜。

於是撒母耳求告耶和華，耶和華就在這日打雷降雨，眾民便甚懼怕耶和華和撒母耳。

西門自己也信了；既受了洗，就常與腓利在一處，看見他所行的神蹟和大異能，就甚驚奇。
