“海水冲出，如出胎胞，那时谁将它关闭呢？是我用云彩当海的衣服，用幽暗当包裹它的布，为它定界限，又安门和闩，说：‘你只可到这里，不可越过；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。’

使海与深渊的水干涸、使海的深处变为赎民经过之路的，不是你吗？

你的道在海中；你的路在大水中；你的脚踪无人知道。你曾藉摩西和亚伦的手引导你的百姓，好像羊群一般。

他却领出自己的民如羊，在旷野引他们如羊群。他领他们稳稳妥妥地，使他们不致害怕；海却淹没他们的仇敌。

你从水中经过，我必与你同在；你趟过江河，水必不漫过你；你从火中行过，必不被烧，火焰也不着在你身上。

使他荣耀的膀臂在摩西的右手边行动，在他们前面将水分开，要建立自己永远的名，带领他们经过深处，如马行走旷野，使他们不致绊跌的在哪里呢？”

那从上往下流的水便在极远之地、撒拉但旁的亚当城那里停住，立起成垒；那往亚拉巴的海，就是盐海，下流的水全然断绝。于是百姓在耶利哥的对面过去了。
