耶和华对摩西说：“你向海伸杖，叫水仍合在埃及人并他们的车辆、马兵身上。”

摩西就带着妻子和两个儿子，叫他们骑上驴，回埃及地去。摩西手里拿着神的杖。

摩西向海伸杖，耶和华便用大东风，使海水一夜退去，水便分开，海就成了干地。以色列人下海中走干地，水在他们的左右作了墙垣。

万军之耶和华要兴起鞭来攻击他，好像在俄立磐石那里杀戮米甸人一样。耶和华的杖要向海伸出，把杖举起，像在埃及一样。

“你拿着杖去，和你的哥哥亚伦招聚会众，在他们眼前吩咐磐石发出水来，水就从磐石流出，给会众和他们的牲畜喝。”于是摩西照耶和华所吩咐的，从耶和华面前取了杖去。

“法老若对你们说：‘你们行件奇事吧！’你就吩咐亚伦说：‘把杖丢在法老面前，使杖变作蛇。’”

耶和华对摩西说：“你手里是什么？”他说：“是杖。”

摩西举手，用杖击打磐石两下，就有许多水流出来，会众和他们的牲畜都喝了。
