They said to Moses,“ Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way, to bring us out of Egypt?

他們對摩西說：“難道埃及沒有墳墓，你要把我們帶來死在曠野嗎？你為甚麼這樣待我們，把我們從埃及領出來呢？

對摩西說：『難道在埃及沒有墳墓，你得把我們帶來，死在曠野麼？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？

謂摩西曰、豈以埃及無塚地、而導我出、使亡於野乎、曷待我如是、俾我去埃及耶、

亦謂摩西曰、在埃及、豈無塚地、而導我出、使亡於野、曷待我若是。

謂摩西曰、爾導我出死在曠野、得毋因伊及地無墓乎、爾導我出伊及、何為待我若是、

They said to Moses,“ Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

They said to Moses,“ Why did you bring us to the desert to die? Weren’t there any graves in Egypt? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

They said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?

and they said to Moses,“ Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?

They said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Then they said to Moses,“ Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt?

Then they said to Moses,“ Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?

And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to bring us forth out of Egypt?

They said to Moses:“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you took us to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

And they said unto Moses, Because[ there were] no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

and they said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the desert? What in the world have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

All the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them,“ We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!Why does Yahweh bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?”They said to one another,“ Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.”

Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said,“ Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them,“ Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Yahweh?”The people were thirsty for water there; so the people murmured against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”

The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;and the children of Israel said to them,“ We wish that we had died by Yahweh’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”

The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger burned; and Yahweh’s fire burned among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.The people murmured against Moses, saying,“ What shall we drink?”

Israel said,“ Why did you treat me so badly, telling the man that you had another brother?”

But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying,“ You have killed Yahweh’s people!”

Moses returned to Yahweh, and said,“ Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why is it that you have sent me?
