This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.

When you celebrate this holy day, it will be like a mark on your hand. It will be like a reminder on your forehead. This law of the Lord must be on your lips. The Lord used his mighty hand to bring you out of Egypt.

And it shall be to you as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.

This annual festival will be a visible sign to you, like a mark branded on your hand or your forehead. Let it remind you always to recite this teaching of the Lord:‘ With a strong hand, the Lord rescued you from Egypt.’

These are the families of Simeon.These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were one hundred and thirty-seven.The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimi according to their families.And the sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred and thirty-three.The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of Levi according to their generations.Now Amram took for himself Jochebed, his father’s sister, as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred and thirty-seven.The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.And the sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Zithri.Aaron took to himself Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, as wife; and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.And the sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These are the families of the Korahites.Eleazar, Aaron’s son, took for himself one of the daughters of Putiel as wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.These are the same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said,“ Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.”These are the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are the same Moses and Aaron.And it came to pass, on the day the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,that the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ I am the Lord. Speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.”But Moses said before the Lord,“ Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh heed me?”

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent?

But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

Therefore her plagues will come in one day— death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

Behold, the Lord GOD shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.

“ As I live,” says the Lord,“ though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet on My right hand, yet I would pluck you off;

“ As for Me,” says the Lord,“ this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord,“ from this time and forevermore.”

But what does it say?“ The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”( that is, the word of faith which we preach):

“ And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

You have a mighty arm; Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand.

The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?

My son, keep your father’s command, And do not forsake the law of your mother.Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck.When you roam, they will lead you; When you sleep, they will keep you; And when you awake, they will speak with you.For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.

Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.

For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck.

In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.
