他们一切所做的事都是要叫人看见，所以将佩戴的经文做宽了，衣裳的繸子做长了，

这血要在你们所住的房屋上作记号；我一见这血，就越过你们去。我击杀埃及地头生的时候，灾殃必不临到你们身上灭你们。”

他就用大能的手和伸出来的膀臂，并大可畏的事与神迹奇事，领我们出了埃及，

也要殷勤教训你的儿女。无论你坐在家里，行在路上，躺下，起来，都要谈论。也要系在手上为记号，戴在额上为经文；又要写在你房屋的门框上，并你的城门上。”
