In the future, when your son asks you‘ What is this?’ you are to tell him,‘ With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the land of slavery.

日後你的兒子若問你說：「這是甚麼意思？」，你要對他說：「是永恆主用他手的權能將我們從埃及、從為奴之家領出來。

異日爾子若問爾曰、此何意也、則告之曰、耶和華以其手力、導我出埃及、脫於奴隸之室、

厥後若爾子孫詰爾、行此曷故、爾宜告之、耶和華以大能導我出埃及、脫我於賤役、

他日、爾子若相問曰、行此何為、爾則告之曰、因主以大能導我出為奴之伊及、

“ In days to come, when your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ say to him,‘ With a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“ In days to come, your child will ask you,‘ What does this mean?’ Say to them,‘ The Lord used his mighty hand to bring us out of Egypt. That’s the land where we were slaves.

And when in time to come your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ you shall say to him,‘ By a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

“ And in the future, your children will ask you,‘ What does all this mean?’ Then you will tell them,‘ With the power of his mighty hand, the Lord brought us out of Egypt, the place of our slavery.

“ In the future, when your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ say to him,‘ By the strength of his hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying,‘ What is this?’ then you shall say to him,‘ With a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

So it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying,‘ What is this?’ that you shall say to him,‘ By strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

“ In the future, when your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ say to him,‘ By the strength of His hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What[ is] this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

It shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying,‘ What is this?’ that you shall tell him,‘ By strength of hand Yahweh brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Moses said to the people,“ Remember this day on which you came out from Egypt, from the place where you were enslaved, for the LORD brought you out of there with a mighty hand– and no bread made with yeast may be eaten.

The stones will be a reminder to you. When your children ask someday,‘ Why are these stones important to you?’

When your children ask you,‘ What does this ceremony mean to you?’–then you will say,‘ It is the sacrifice of the LORD’s Passover, when he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt, when he struck Egypt and delivered our households.’” The people bowed down low to the ground,

When your children ask you later on,“ What are the stipulations, statutes, and ordinances that the LORD our God commanded you?”you must say to them,“ We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt in a powerful way.And he brought signs and great, devastating wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on his whole family before our very eyes.He delivered us from there so that he could give us the land he had promised our ancestors.The LORD commanded us to obey all these statutes and to revere him so that it may always go well for us and he may preserve us, as he has to this day.

and in order that in the hearing of your son and your grandson you may tell how I made fools of the Egyptians and about my signs that I displayed among them, so that you may know that I am the LORD.”

One generation will praise your deeds to another, and tell about your mighty acts!

It will be a sign for you on your hand and a memorial on your forehead, so that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth, for with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

He told the Israelites,“ When your children someday ask their fathers,‘ What do these stones represent?’explain to your children,‘ Israel crossed the Jordan River on dry ground.’For the LORD your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you while you crossed over. It was just like when the LORD your God dried up the Red Sea before us while we crossed it.He has done this so all the nations of the earth might recognize the LORD’s power and so you might always obey the LORD your God.”

My integrity will testify for me later on. When you come to verify that I’ve taken only the wages we agreed on, if I have in my possession any goat that is not speckled or spotted or any sheep that is not dark-colored, it will be considered stolen.”

We swear we have done this because we were worried that in the future your descendants would say to our descendants,‘ What relationship do you have with the LORD God of Israel?
