That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.

and they made their lives bitter with hard service in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.

Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples, and said,“ Take, eat; this is my body.”

You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

I will pour on David’s house, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

A little yeast grows through the whole lump.

I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted within me.

The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”Jesus therefore said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed in our place.Therefore let’s keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
